How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Plastering sand supplied in an 800kg bulk bag, consisting of fine, evenly graded natural aggregate washed and sieved for consistency.
Its fine texture combines smooth finish, easy workability, and durable compactness, making it suitable for plastering, rendering, mortar, and finishing coats on walls and ceilings.
Features & Benefits
- Washed and sieved fine aggregate: Produces smooth, uniform surfaces with minimal imperfections.
- Consistent fine grain size: Enhances workability, allowing mixes to be easily prepared and applied.
- Grey-brown natural colour: Neutral appearance, blending well with cementitious mixes.
- Naturally sourced (quarries or seabeds): Quality-controlled with minimal impurities, though moisture and shade may vary.
- Durable compact finish: Helps create strong plaster and render surfaces resistant to cracking.
- Versatile material: Suitable for internal plastering, external rendering, mortar, screeds, and decorative blends.
- 800kg bulk bag supply: Cost-effective for large projects with site delivery convenience.
- HIAB crane offloading: Delivered via a vehicle equipped with a heavy-duty crane arm to allow for precise kerbside placement. Ensure the delivery site has sufficient access for a large HGV and is clear of overhead obstructions for crane operation.
Applications
- Internal plastering: Used in backing coats and to prepare smooth, uniform surfaces for decoration.
- External rendering: Forms durable, weather-resistant wall finishes in scratch, float, and top coats.
- Fine mortars and pointing: Suitable where a finer joint finish is required.
- Floor screeds and decorative use: Sometimes used as a component in finer screeds or blended for landscaping features (check suitability first).
Installation Guidance
- Clean the substrate: Ensure the wall or floor surface is free from dust, oil, and loose debris to provide a maximum mechanical bond.
- Control suction levels: Dampen high-suction backgrounds, such as porous brick or blockwork, with water or a bonding agent prior to application.
- Verify mix ratios: Follow specific proportions (typically 1:4 to 1:6 cement to sand) based on the strength requirements of the specific coat being applied.
- Mix to consistency: Add water gradually to the dry ingredients until a smooth, "buttery" consistency is achieved that hangs on the trowel.
- Apply in layers: Ensure backing coats are sufficiently scratched and allowed to "tighten" before applying subsequent floating or finishing layers.
- Monitor drying times: Protect fresh plaster or render from rapid drying caused by direct sunlight or strong winds to prevent shrinkage cracking.
- Use clean tools: Ensure all mixing vessels, trowels, and floats are free of dried material to prevent "dragging" and surface scarring.
- Handle bulk safely: Use certified mechanical lifting equipment to position the 800kg bag on stable, level ground near the mixing station.
Compliance & Performance
- Aggregate grading: Fine-graded particles washed and sieved to ensure compliance with finishing standards for plastering and rendering.
- Service class: Suitable for both internal and external service conditions when mixed with appropriate cementitious or lime binders.
- Material specification: Natural sieved sand, processed to remove oversized particles and harmful chemical contaminants.
- Safety disclaimer: Wear a suitable dust mask (FFP3), gloves, and eye protection when handling dry sand or mixing with alkaline cements.
- Important note: Bulk bag weight may differ by ±5% due to natural moisture content variation. Always conduct a small trial mix to verify colour and suction compatibility with the specific substrate.
