What Is 10mm Pea Shingle/Gravel?

For added protection against unwanted weeds get your hands on a bag of Pea Shingle. Don't be fooled by its unassuming name, this stuff is the key to the perfect driveway, improving the structural integrity of cement, screeds, gravel, and other aggregates.

These stones come in a diameter ranging from 4mm - 10mm (although stock may vary) and are most commonly found in shades of grey or brown. Please note each bag will vary in colour due to the fact that the product originates from a natural source.

These non-decorative aggregates are most commonly packaged around drainage systems and mixed with the above materials; the result being more volume, meaning that expensive construction materials become stronger and last longer.

Simply spread the shingle in a predetermined space and smooth it out until it is level; the installation process really is that simple.

Weight may vary by +/- 5%.

10mm Pea Shingle Bulk Bag Applications

Shingle (also referred to as pea gravel) is a highly versatile material for your next project list, it is able to satisfy a number of construction needs in both general building/landscaping applications.

This multipurpose building material can add volume and structural integrity to other products thanks to its vast compatibility with a number of materials and products.

A lot of our customers use it for pipe bedding underground pipes and for ground drainage projects, with most people mixing shingle into floor screeds or concrete mix to create an exposed aggregate effect.

Shingle 10mm Bulk Bag Features & Benefits

  • Designed for concreting, floor screeding, and landscaping
  • Colours vary from grey to brown
  • Increases the structural integrity of your materials
  • Low maintenance – simply top it up with more shingle as it sinks and falls flat

10mm Gravel Weed Suppressant

10mm Gravel is known for being multi-functional.

One of the biggest benefits of this great product is that it acts as a weed suppressant. Even the smallest weeds have the power to displace concrete and can cause the concrete to break and crack further down the line.

Shingle is manufactured with chemicals that are specifically designed to combat the growth of weeds, hence why it is so popular in both concrete and cement applications.

10mm Pea Shingle Weight

Customers should also note that the weight of bags will vary along with the colour. The bag size will always be the same but, due to varying levels of moisture in the shingle, some bags might weigh more than others. So, one load might be slightly heavier than another.
