Product Overview
Sharp sand supplied in a 25kg bag, consisting of coarse, angular-grained natural aggregate with minimal fines or clay.
This manageable bag size is ideal for spot repairs, small-scale construction and landscaping tasks, or topping up bulk applications.
Features & Benefits
- Coarse angular grains: Provide excellent compaction, stability, and grip in bedding layers.
- Free-draining structure: Prevents waterlogging, making it suitable for drainage and soil improvement.
- Grey-brown natural colour: Neutral aggregate appearance that blends into cement and soil mixes.
- Mixes well with cement: Adds strength and reduces shrinkage in concretes, screeds, and mortars.
- Gardening benefit: Improves soil aeration and drainage when mixed with compost for lawns and planting beds.
- Best for topping up or localised works: For full paving, patio, or landscaping runs, the 800kg bulk bag is the more practical choice.
- Convenient bag size (25kg): Easy to carry, transport, and tip manually without lifting equipment.
- Low waste option: Order only the amount needed, reducing surplus on smaller projects.
Please Note: Colour may vary naturally between grey and brown. Bag weight may differ by ±5% due to moisture content. Not suitable for use in children’s play areas.
Applications
- Spot paving and patio repairs: Provides a free-draining bedding layer for patching slabs or blocks.
- DIY concreting and screeds: Suitable for small mixes where modest quantities are required.
- Soil improvement and lawn dressing: Enhances aeration and drainage in heavy or clay soils.
- Topping up bulk applications: Complements 800kg bulk supply when only a small additional amount is needed.
Installation Guidance
- Compact thoroughly: Angular grains interlock when compressed, forming a stable bedding or sub-base.
- Mix accurately with cement: Combine in correct ratios for concretes, screeds, or mortars as required.
- Handle manually: 25kg bags can be carried and tipped without lifting equipment.
Compliance & Performance
- Aggregate grading: Coarse, angular sharp sand screened for consistent performance.
- Service class: Suitable for external groundworks, drainage, concreting, and small-scale landscaping.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
