Product Overview

BS1088-certified marine-grade plywood sheet, measuring 2440mm x 1220mm (8' x 4') with a 25mm thickness.

Made from durable tropical hardwood veneers and bonded with waterproof adhesive, it resists swelling, warping, delamination, and rot even under prolonged moisture exposure.

Unlike standard plywood, it contains no core voids, preventing water entrapment and improving overall strength.

Widely used for structural floors, bulkheads, and high-load marine or outdoor projects, the solid hardwood face is pre-sanded and can be left natural, stained, or varnished.

Features & Benefits

  • BS 1088 Certification: Verified compliance with British Standards for marine-grade plywood ensures the board contains no core gaps and utilises high-quality tropical hardwood.
  • WBP Phenolic Bonding: Weather and Boil Proof resin prevents delamination of veneers even in saturated or high-temperature conditions.
  • Void-Free Core: The absence of internal gaps ensures consistent strength across the entire sheet and prevents moisture from pooling within the board.
  • Rot-Resistant Hardwood: Constructed from naturally durable timber species that offer inherent resistance to fungal attack compared to standard softwood plys.
  • Impact Resistance: High-density hardwood veneers provide a robust surface capable of withstanding mechanical stress and heavy-duty use.
  • Moisture Performance: Withstands long-term immersion without structural failure, unlike MR MDF or standard plywood products.
  • 2440mm x 1220mm Dimensions: The standard sheet size covers 2.98m² per board to maximize surface coverage and minimise off-cut waste.
  • Thickness 25mm: Heavy-duty board for structural floors, bulkheads, and high-load marine applications.

Please Note: Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.

Applications

  • Marine hull and deck construction: 25mm profile provides the void-free core required for structural decking, engine beds, and transom reinforcements.
  • External joinery and landscaping: Moisture-resistant 25mm veneers are used for external workbenches, bridge decking, and structural pontoon components.
  • Vehicle and van lining: Hardwood construction resists degradation from mechanical loads in specialised transport flooring.
  • Balcony and roof terrace decking: 25mm profile provides a load-bearing substrate for waterproof membranes on large-span external elevated platforms.

Installation Guidance

  • Seal edges and faces: Extends service life when exposed outdoors.
  • Use waterproof fixings and adhesives: Maintains performance under wet conditions.
  • Apply varnish or paint if exposed: Enhances appearance and adds further protection.

Compliance & Performance

  • Standard: Certified to BS1088 for marine-grade plywood.
  • Veneer quality: Manufactured from durable tropical hardwood, free of core voids.
  • Bonding: Waterproof adhesive suitable for continuous wet exposure.
  • Classification note: Formerly referred to as WBP plywood; superseded by BS1088 and EN standards.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
