Marine Plywood is a premium sheet material that is designed to withstand harsh weather conditions and very heavy loads. So called because of its use as a popular ship-building product, Marine Plywood has a wide range of construction applications and offers many benefits as both an interior and exterior plywood board. It is manufactured through a process of bonding wood veneers together and sealing the edges with phenolic resin. This gives both the edges and faces of the boards enhanced durability and allows them to better resist fungal attacks. This highly durable structured board will bring strength and sturdiness to any building project, and represents the top end of the market when it comes to sheet materials.

25mm Marine Grade Plywood is a durable species of plywood widely used in boat building industries and loved by marine insurers for its weatherproof quality and performance in wet conditions over extended periods. Whereas standard plywood sheets are generally made up of layers of softwood and hardwood, Marine Ply is manufactured using many layers of water resistant tropical hardwood that are bonded together with a waterproof glue. This enhances both the structural integrity and rot resistant qualities of the plywood, making it suitable for demanding environments where the board is likely to be exposed to the elements. Whilst naturally resistant to moisture, you can increase service life of Marine Plywood by sealing the exposed edges.
Marine Plywood 25mm has a wide range of interior and exterior applications, and is also suitable for general joinery. Its main use is as a structural board in flooring, roofing and wall applications. To name just a few, it can be used for shop fitting, storage boxes, bathrooms, sheds, walkways, advertising panels, indoor vehicle storage areas, roof supports, cold frames, and also in the marine and boat industries. If using for an aesthetic application such as shelving, it is a good idea to sand and add a layer of varnish to the plywood to enhance its appearance.
The high moisture resistant core of Marine Plywood 25mm means that it can be used in a properly protected specification without compromising the performance of the overall system. It can be easily cut using standard power tools. This particular plywood conforms to BS1088, which is the British standard specification for Marine Plywood and means that it is manufactured from Meranti hardwood veneers. This stamp of approval gives confidence that the product will perform well in almost any environment.
Marine Plywood 25mm comes in a 2440mm x 1220mm x 25mm sheet, giving a square metre size of roughly 2.98m2.
