Product Overview
Elliotis pine structural plywood sheet, measuring 2440mm x 1220mm (8' x 4') with a 9mm thickness.
Manufactured in Brazil from single-species Elliottis pine veneers and bonded to meet BS EN 636-2 (Service Class 2), it provides strength and stability in humid conditions when edges are sealed.
A cost-effective alternative to hardwood plywood, it is widely used for sheathing, soffits, and light-duty structural tasks.
Features & Benefits
- Structural classification: Meets BS EN 636-2, suitable for load-bearing applications in humid environments when sealed.
- Veneer grade C+/C: Better face sanded smooth for construction or utility finishing; reverse face may contain knots and imperfections.
- No core voids: Veneers are laid up with minimal gaps for stable performance.
- Strength and stability: Provides racking resistance in walls and a solid base in roofing and flooring.
- Cost-effective: Affordable alternative to hardwood plywood without compromising essential structural qualities.
- Workability: Cuts, drills, nails, and screws easily with standard tools.
- Standard sheet size (2440mm x 1220mm): Covers 2.98m² per sheet, minimising cutting waste.
- Thickness 9mm: Practical for soffits, linings, and light-duty sheathing.
Please Note: Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.
Applications
- Wall sheathing (racking strength): Adds resistance against sideways movement in timber frame walls.
- Roof decking (sarking): Provides a stable base for underlay and roof coverings.
- Light flooring underlayment: Levels and supports domestic flooring (joist spacing ≤ 400mm centres).
- Site hoarding and temporary barriers: Secure, cost-effective option for site enclosures.
- Soffits and protected fascias: Suitable in sheltered areas when edges are sealed and painted.
- Formwork (light-duty shuttering): For concrete pours where surface finish is not critical.
- General joinery and DIY: Utility use for shelving, workbenches, crates, and packing cases.
Installation Guidance
- Seal all edges and cut faces: Prevents moisture ingress and extends service life.
- Fix at recommended centres: Typically 400mm for 9mm thickness in wall and floor applications.
- Use galvanised or stainless fixings: Protects against corrosion in humid or temporary outdoor conditions.
Compliance & Performance
- Standard: Meets BS EN 636-2 for structural use in humid service conditions and covered external applications when sealed.
- Veneer quality: C+/C grade pine, with a smoother C+ face suitable for utility finishes and a reverse C face showing more knots and imperfections.
- Country of origin: Brazil (Elliotis pine plantations).
- Classification note: Formerly referred to as WBP plywood; superseded by EN standards.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
