What Is 6x2 Timber 4.8m?
6 x 2 treated timber, often called 150x50 carcassing timber, is a mainstay of the building trade. This sawn timber is treated and kiln dried, ensuring maximum protection against insects and dreary UK weather.
They also boast a robust C24 grading, which makes them suitable for structural applications such as flooring, roofing, as well as timber framing and other general joinery applications.
These 6x2 timber 4.8m lengths have been planed all around to produce a smooth easi edge that makes them comfortable to handle.

Please Note: The finished size of our carcassing timber may vary slightly from the nominal dimensions. You can expect to receive timber that is finished with a thickness 2mm less and a width 5mm less than the nominal measurements stated. Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.

With a nominal size of 47mmx150mm, 6x2 timber actually has a finished size of 45mmx145mm, but this difference is so negligible that it is commonly just referred to as 47x150, or 6 x 2.
