Where this applies, you'll see multiple delivery charges at checkout. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery Areas & Charges
Delivery charges listed on our website apply to mainland UK, excluding the following postcode areas: AB, CF, DD, DG, KW, IV, LA, LD, LL, NP, PH, SA, SY
If your delivery address falls within one of these postcode areas, we’ll be in touch before processing your order to confirm any additional delivery costs.

What Is 6x2 Timber 3m?
6x2 Timber 3m is a high-quality, C24 graded timber specifically designed for demanding structural applications. This timber is precision-sawn to length and pressure-treated with advanced preservatives, providing enhanced protection against fungal decay and insect infestation. Such treatment ensures the timber's durability, even in challenging environmental conditions.
With its C24 grading, 6x2 Timber 3m is ideal for structural carcassing applications, including flooring joists, roofing, timber frame stud walls, and other general joinery tasks that require strength and stability. The C24 grade guarantees that the timber meets the necessary performance standards for load-bearing applications, making it suitable for both residential and commercial construction projects.
The timber is also planed all round, producing a smooth, consistent finish that facilitates easier handling and ensures an efficient installation process.
Here at Materials Market, we stock 6x2 timber in 2.4m, 3m, 3.6m, 4.2m, 4.8m, 6m and 7.2m lengths, with a consistent thickness of 47mm.
Please Note: The finished size of our carcassing timber may vary slightly from the nominal dimensions. You can expect to receive timber that is finished with a thickness 2mm less and a width 5mm less than the nominal measurements stated. Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.
6x2 Timber Sizing Explained
With a nominal size of 47mmx150mm, 6x2 timber actually has a finished size of 45mmx145mm, but this difference is so negligible that it is commonly just referred to as 47x150, or 6x2.
