What is 2x2 3m Timber?
Have confidence in indoor and outdoor projects alike with 47mm x 50mm 2x2 3m treated timber – or 50mmx50mm in metric size. 3m 50x50 treated timber is a highly versatile material which can be used in all manner of different ways from flooring to roofing, finding use in your build from the floor up.
This non-structural timber has been sawn to the required length and pressure treated with substances to attempt to prevent fungal or insect attack.
Here at Materials Market, we supply 2x2 sawn timber in both 3m and 3.6m lengths, with 3m being one of our most popular sizes - either can be cut or sawn to whichever length is required for your individual project.
Please Note: The finished size of our carcassing timber may vary slightly from the nominal dimensions. You can expect to receive timber that is finished with a thickness 2mm less and a width 5mm less than the nominal measurements stated. Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.

Pressure Treated Timber - The Benefits
Here at Materials Market, we're here to connect buyer to seller, ensuring all products available for purchase are of the utmost quality. For this reason, all of our timber is treated with preservatives, kiln dried, and then planed all around to give it eased edges that make it easier to handle.
Planing is a process in which the timber is sanded down to achieve a smooth finish, banishing imperfections and making it suitable for aesthetic use within a building or furniture building.
Timber comes in various lengths and sizes, and is regularised to ensure that dimensions are consistent within ranges.
Is It Possible To Paint 2x2 Treated Timber?
It is entirely possible to paint treated timber - after the water-borne chemicals have settled and dried that is.
It is important to allow the wood to dry out fully before attempting to add any paint or primer to it. This can take up to a few weeks depending on where the wood is being stored.
