About 12.5mm Knauf Moisture Panel

  • Application: Suitable for drylining internal surfaces in moisture-prone environments such as kitchens, bathrooms, and utility rooms.
  • Composition: Moisture-resistant, aerated gypsum core with water-repellent silicone additives, encased in durable paper liners.
  • Finishing: Tapered edge profile is designed for easy and effective joint treatment, providing a seamless surface compatible with Knauf jointing and finishing systems.
  • Fire Safety: Rated Euroclass A2-s1, d0 - very limited combustibility, produces little to no smoke, and creates no flaming droplets when exposed to fire.
  • Performance: Can be layered to achieve specified levels of acoustic, thermal, or structural performance.
  • Sustainability: 100% recyclable - supports sustainable building objectives.
  • Installation: Can be cut via the score-and-snap method and fixed with either drywall screws to a frame or adhesive bonding ('dot and dab') to solid backgrounds.
  • Thermal Conductivity: 0.25 W/mK.

12.5mm Thickness

  • Regulatory Compliance: The standard thickness required in many tested wall and ceiling systems to meet the minimum fire resistance (Part B) and sound insulation (Part E) requirements of UK Building Regulations for residential projects.
  • Balanced Performance: Offers an improvement in baseline acoustic insulation over 9.5mm board due to its extra mass, while being more manageable to handle, cut, and install than heavier 15mm boards. Unless specified as a sound performance board, it should not be relied upon as a standalone soundproofing solution.

Tapered Edge

  • Simplified Jointing: Sloped edges form a shallow recess at the joint, creating an ideal channel for embedding joint tape and applying filler.
  • Invisible Seams: Allows jointing compound to be feathered out perfectly flush with the main board face, resulting in a seamless surface ready for painting.
  • Greater Efficiency: By containing the compound within the recess, it minimises waste and reduces the amount of filler needed compared to traditional square-edge boards.

2400mm x 1200mm Dimensions

  • Industry-Standard Size: Selected by professionals to maximise efficiency on site.
  • Faster Coverage: Allows walls and ceilings to be covered quickly, reducing installation time, especially in bigger rooms and open-plan spaces.
  • Fewer Joints, Better Finish: Minimises the number of joints that require taping and filling.
