Product Overview
Acoustic plasterboard sheet, measuring 2400 × 1200mm with a 12.5mm tapered edge, for use in partitions and linings where improved sound insulation is required.
With a board density of 10kg/m², it is heavier and denser than standard plasterboard, providing enhanced acoustic performance in residential and light commercial settings. This makes it a practical choice for reducing airborne sound transfer between rooms.
The tapered edge profile creates a shallow recess at board joints, designed to accommodate tape and jointing compound. Once filled and finished, the surface becomes seamless and ready for direct decoration.
Standard dimensions reduce the number of joints required across walls and ceilings, improving installation efficiency while maintaining dependable performance in partition and lining systems.
At 12.5mm thick, the board provides dependable strength and stability for partitions and linings while helping to improve acoustic comfort within internal spaces.
Features & Benefits
- Higher density core: Approx. 10kg/m² board weight reduces airborne sound transmission compared with standard wallboard.
- Tapered edge profile: Creates a recess for tape and compound, producing a flush, smooth surface.
- Blue paper face: Provides quick visual identification of acoustic-rated board and a durable surface for finishing.
- Fully recyclable: Can be recovered and processed at end of life.
- Compatible with Knauf finishes: Works with Knauf Jointing Products and Ready Mix Spray Finish for streamlined installation.
- Made by Knauf Drywall: Backed by quality and compliance standards.
- Standard 2400mm x 1200mm size: Fits common framing and grid systems.
- 12.5mm thickness: Standard for drylining - basis for most stud, track, and lining specs.
Applications
- Partitions: Enhances acoustic separation between adjoining rooms.
- Wall linings: Improves sound insulation for masonry or framed walls.
- Light commercial spaces: Suitable for offices and meeting rooms requiring better acoustic comfort.
Installation Guidance
- Fix with staggered joints: Improves structural integrity and limits sound leakage paths.
- Cut by scoring and snapping: Ensures clean edges and accurate fitting.
- Store flat in a dry, ventilated area: Prevents warping and moisture absorption.
Compliance & Performance
- Compliance: EN 520, Types A and D - conforms to plasterboard requirements with added density for acoustic performance.
- Reaction to fire: Classified A2-s1, d0 - limited contribution to fire, minimal smoke production.
- Thermal conductivity: 0.25 W/mK - contributes to system U-value calculations.
- Sustainability: Manufactured with paper facings from recycled sources and fully recyclable at end of life.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
