90mm Kingspan Kooltherm K106 Cavity Board Insulation Product Description

If you are searching for the best thermal protection on the market that limits thermal bridging, look no further than a Kingspan Kooltherm K106 cavity board. K106 boards have a thermal conductivity of just 0.018 W/mK. These boards are made from fibre free rigid thermoset insulation materials that can slot inside and insulate cavity walls without a problem.

90mm Kooltherm K106 cavity board is a full-fill cavity wall solution intended for installation between the inner leaf and outer leaf of an external masonry wall. Its unventilated cavity means it's damp proof and resists moisture penetration

About Kingspan Premium Performance Insulation

Kingspan is a global company that leads the way in premium-quality phenolic insulation. They have 15,000 employees worldwide and 18 manufacturing sites in the UK alone. They are the only manufacturer of phenolic insulation in the UK.

Phenolic insulation is more expensive than the other insulation materials on the market, but it does provide superior thermal protection. Kingspan Kooltherm K106 cavity board has a thermal conductivity of 0.018 W/mK, making them superior even to PIR insulation, which has a thermal conductivity of 0.022 W/mK.

K106 90mm Applications

90mm Kingspan Kooltherm K106 boards are designed for installation in a cavity wall constructions, and not other applications such as a solid concrete ground floor or suspended timber floor. A cavity wall refers to the space between two masonry walls (inner leaf and outer leaf). Often, people who want to invest in the thermal envelope of their home focus on cavity walls first.

K106 Kingspan Benefits

K106 Kingspan board is a premium performance insulation that is comprised of a rigid thermoset phenolic insulation core (made from a zero ODP blowing agent) with a low emissivity composite foil facing on one side and a polypropylene fleece facing on the other. One of the main benefits of K106 90mm boards is that they can be retained tight into place as a full fill solution.

90mm K106 Kingspan & the Elements

K106 90mm boards deliver excellent protection against the elements. They are not implicated by air infiltration. Since free rigid thermoset phenolic core insulation is a non-deleterious material, you do not have to worry about health risks when using these boards.

The water-tight, vapour-open polypropylene fleece outer facing prevents moisture penetration. 90mm Kingspan Kooltherm K106 is perfect for people who live in areas with high rainfalls. K106 Kingspan cavity board has a lot of protective properties.

Kingspan Kooltherm K106 Standards

Kingspan Kooltherm K106 cavity wall insulation has a premium performance fibre free rigid thermoset phenolic insulation core. Due to the amount of air present it is inefficient to support combustion and stops flame spread. K106 is management system certified under quality management systems, occupational health & safety management systems, environmental management systems and energy management systems.

Put this on the inner facing of a cavity wall after the cavity tray installed. Can see that the 10mm gap at from made air infiltration easy. Confident any moisture that gets in can easily evaporate.
