100mm Kingspan Kooltherm K107 Pitched Roof Insulation Board 2400mm x 1200mm

100mm Kingspan Kooltherm K107 Board is a high-end phenolic core premium performance insulation product designed for pitched roofs in both new build and refurbishment projects. Belonging to the Kingspan Kooltherm 100 range - an elite club of thermally efficient insulation products - means that it has an extremely low thermal conductivity value of 0.018 W/mK across all thicknesses. 

The 100mm Kooltherm K107 insulation boards can be installed in warm roof spaces on tiled or slated roofs. With a composite foil facing on either side, low emissivity surface improves thermal resistance and prevents moisture from passing between the interior and exterior of the building. 

These K107 pitched roof boards are produced using a blowing agent that renders the manufacturing process a low global warming potential and with a zero ozone depletion potential, so your conscience can be clear when your purchase this product. The boards are 2400mm x 1200mm in size (8ft x 4ft in old-school terminology) and are lightweight and rigid.

Like all Kingspan insulation boards, 100mm Kooltherm K107 pitched roof boards are designed to high specifications. These 2400mm by 1200mm boards are comprised of a rigid thermoset phenolic core that is sandwiched between two composite foil facings. They are made to such high standards that they can be installed in both new build and refurbishment projects.

Kooltherm K107 100mm boards are designed for installation in pitched roofs. We recommend these boards for tiles and slated roofs. They are easy to handle and can even be cut with a simple hand saw.

100mm Kingspan Kooltherm K107 Insulation Manufacturing Process

Boards in the K107 Kingspan range are made in much the same way as PIR insulation boards. Kingspan boards are manufactured with a blowing agent and in a process where a layer of wet phenolic foam is placed on a foil facing. 

As phenolic foam dries, it expands. Kingspan creates different thicknesses by placing another foil facing above the foam at different depths. The foam adheres itself to the top facing. Kingspan heats the board, allows it to dry, and cuts it into standard sizes.

There are lots of different thicknesses to choose from in the K107 Kingspan range. We stock everything from 25mm to 100mm boards. 100mm boards are the most popular from the K107 range and provide strong thermal conductivity.

100mm Kingspan K107 Installation

Installing 100mm Kingspan Kooltherm K107 pitched roof board are not complicated. These boards are designed for insulating warm roof spaces such as pitched roofs. In most cases, you can slot the insulation between the rafters of your roof. Install insulated plasterboard over the insulation to protect it.

You might have to trim the insulation to size. You can cut through them with a simple hand saw. If you need to cut phenolic insulation, follow these steps.

1. Place a ruler on the insulation.
2. Make a shallow cut down the line with a utility knife.
3. Use the shallow cut as a guide for your hand saw.

Always take proper safety precautions when cutting insulation. We recommend wearing goggles and even thick gloves.
