Why Wallboard?

  • Wallboard, also known as standard plasterboard, is a widely used interior surfacing panel for walls, ceilings and applications where standard levels of fire resistance, structural support, and sound insulation are required.
  • It is composed of a gypsum core sandwiched between two thick sheets of paper.
  • One of these paper faces has a characteristic ivory colour, providing a clean and neutral backdrop for decoration.
  • Whether you prefer the simplicity of paint, the intricate patterns of wallpaper, or the texture of a plaster finish, wallboard provides the perfect foundation.

Why 12.5mm?

  • 12.5mm plasterboard is the standard thickness for most construction projects, offering a balanced combination of strength, durability, and ease of installation for general wall and ceiling applications.
  • It provides better structural integrity and sound insulation than the lighter 9.5mm board, while being less bulky than the thicker 15mm option.
  • However, unless specified as a performance board, it should not be relied upon as a standalone solution for soundproofing.

Why Square Edge?

  • Square edge plasterboard features a clean, straight edge, making it ideal for areas where joints will be concealed with joint compound, tape, trims, or mouldings.
  • Commonly used in non-structural applications such as internal wall linings and ceilings, it is well-suited for spaces where additional finishing is planned.

Why 1800mm x 900mm?

  • 1800mm x 900mm plasterboard offers a more compact and manageable size compared to standard 2400mm x 1200mm sheets, making it an excellent choice for projects where ease of handling, transport, and installation are crucial.
  • Its smaller dimensions are particularly advantageous in tight spaces, rooms with limited access, or smaller renovation projects where manoeuvring larger sheets could be challenging.
  • Additionally, the 1800mm size helps reduce material wastage, making it an efficient option for more precise, smaller-scale applications.

Knauf Drywall

  • Knauf Drywall's dedication to quality and compliance is reflected in their extensive gypsum product portfolio.
  • These drywall solutions empower contractors, architects, and specialists to create buildings that meet the highest standards of performance, safety, and sustainability while adhering to the strictest industry regulations.
