How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Stone wool insulation slab, measuring 50mm in thickness and cut to 1200 × 600mm, for use in partitions, ceilings, and floors.
Manufactured at a density of 60 kg/m³, the slab combines dependable acoustic absorption, effective thermal insulation, and inherent fire resistance.
Its semi-rigid composition ensures straightforward installation, while maintaining a close fit to limit gaps that could compromise performance.
Non-combustible and classified to the highest fire safety standards, the slab contributes to enhanced fire protection within the building fabric. Its fibre structure also provides strong airborne sound reduction, improving acoustic comfort between rooms and floors.
At 50mm thick, the slab offers a versatile balance of acoustic and thermal performance.
It is well suited to partitions, floors, and ceilings where effective noise control, reliable energy efficiency, and proven fire resilience are required without the added depth of thicker slabs.
Features & Benefits
- A1 non-combustible fire rating (BS EN 13501-1): Meets UK and Ireland Building Regulations for non-combustible materials.
- Stone wool material: Naturally resists rot, fungal decay, and insect attack for long-term durability.
- 60kg/m³ density: Provides rigidity for friction fitting and reliable acoustic performance.
- Semi-rigid slab format: Fits neatly between studs, joists, and rafters.
- Open-fibre structure: Provides excellent sound absorption for reduced noise transfer.
- Easily cut to size: Allows straightforward installation around services and fixtures.
- Slab size 1200 x 600mm: Standard board dimensions suit common stud spacings.
- 50mm thickness: Provides effective acoustic and thermal performance in a versatile, space-saving profile.
Applications
- Stud partitions: Enhances sound reduction between rooms, meeting Approved Document E requirements.
- Ceiling upgrades: Improves airborne sound insulation in residential or commercial builds.
- Floor voids: Adds acoustic performance to timber floors, reducing impact and airborne sound.
- Service risers and enclosures: Provides fire and acoustic protection in building services applications.
Installation Guidance
- Friction fit between studs/joists: Ensures slabs stay securely in place without gaps.
- Cut with insulation saw or knife: Achieves accurate fitting around pipes, sockets, and structural details.
- Protect from moisture during install: Maintain insulation performance by keeping slabs dry until enclosed.
Compliance & Performance
- Euroclass A1 non-combustible (BS EN 13501-1): Complies with Building Regulations requirements for non-combustible materials in internal partitions, floors, and ceilings.
- CE marked to BS EN 13162: Factory-made mineral wool insulation, tested for thermal conductivity (0.034 W/mK) and acoustic absorption performance.
