Bought this to reduce noise from next door and didn't need a thermal insulation. Rockwool have a pretty big product range, but this seemed like a good mid-range product. Can't hear my neighbours at all anymore!

RW3 high-quality resin bonded slabs have a soft, fibrous texture, very similar to a loaf of bread. Because of this, a serrated blade is all you need to slice through it.
When it comes to storage, we advise that you store the slabs inside; keeping them nice and dry.
Rockwool is recognised as being the market-leading acoustic insulation solution. The Rockwool RW slab range offers outstanding thermal, acoustic and fire insulation properties as well as lifelong durability. The product range consists of high-quality resin bonded slabs in a variety of thicknesses and densities. RW3 insulation slabs achieve Lambda 0.034 W/mK and are available in eight standard thicknesses from 25-100mm, with a density of 60 kg/m3.
Rockwool manufactures RW3 insulation with no facing as standard, but it also makes it with non-woven mineral black tissue (60gsm), non-woven mineral white tissue (100gsm), and aluminium foil.
We recommend slabs with aluminium foil facings for people who want superior sound-deadening insulation that will protect their homes for years to come.
These slabs have a density of 60kg/m3 per slab. The denser the material, the more layers that sound vibrations have to travel through. Rock is a naturally poor conductor of sound, making RW3 the perfect choice for people who want to insulate their homes against unwanted noise. Rockwool respectfully thrashes competitor brands with its prevention of noise transmission from room to room, making it ideal for installation in internal and separating walls.
Rockwool RW slabs work in two distinct ways to dampen sound, either by impeding the transmission of sound through an element of the structure or by absorption of sound at the surface.
