BS EN is British and European Standard Specifications. With over 100 years of experience, the British Standards Institute is recognised as the UK’s National standards body. BS EN considers Rockwool both:
- Euroclass A1 non-combustible in accordance with BS EN 13501-1 - achieving the highest possible level of fire performance
- CE and Key marked in accordance with BS EN 13162:2012 + A1:2015.v
75mm Rockwool RW3 slabs are also certified by Lloyd's register of shipping as non-combustible materials for use on:

Rockwool RW3 75mm Slabs Storage & Handling
Rockwool RW3 75mm Slabs have a soft, fibrous texture, very similar to a loaf of bread. Because of this, a serrated blade is all you need to slice through them.
When it comes to storage, we advise that you store the slabs inside in a cool, dry area.

RW3 insulation slabs achieve Lambda 0.034 W/mK and are available in eight standard thicknesses from 25-100mm, with a density of 60 kg/m3.
Rockwool manufactures RW3 insulation with no facing as standard, but it also makes it with non-woven mineral black tissue (60gsm), non-woven mineral white tissue (100gsm), and aluminium foil.
We recommend slabs with aluminium foil facings for people who want superior sound-deadening insulation that will protect their homes for years to come.
Rockwool RW3 75mm Acoustic Performance
Rockwool RW slabs work in two distinct ways to dampen sound, either by impeding the transmission of sound through an element of the structure or by absorption of sound at the surface.
These slabs have a density of 60kg/m3 per slab. The denser the material, the more layers that sound vibrations have to travel through. Rock is a naturally poor conductor of sound. RW3 is the perfect choice for people who want to insulate their homes against unwanted noise.
