How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Kingspan Kooltherm K5 External Wall Insulation Board with a 60mm thickness. This rigid phenolic insulation board is designed for external wall insulation systems on masonry substrates. It incorporates a fibre-free thermoset phenolic core with glass tissue-based facings to support compatibility with traditional and lightweight polymer-modified render systems.
The board provides low thermal conductivity to enhance external wall performance while offering resistance to air infiltration and water vapour movement within the façade system.
Its rigid, lightweight construction supports efficient installation and integration into new build or refurbishment wall upgrades.
The 60mm board is suited to façade designs requiring a moderate insulation layer to achieve improved thermal performance without substantial façade thickening.
Features & Benefits
- High thermal efficiency: Offers thermal conductivities as low as 0.021 W/m·K to deliver strong external wall insulation performance.
- Render compatibility: Suitable for installation behind traditional renders and lightweight polymer-modified render systems.
- Unaffected by air infiltration: Maintains stable thermal performance without degradation from air movement.
- Water vapour resistance: Provides resistance to vapour transmission to support moisture control in external wall elements.
- Versatile application: Suitable for new build, retrofit, and refurbishment external wall insulation.
- Environmental performance: Backed by an Environmental Product Declaration and manufactured under ISO 14001-certified management.
- Material status: Fibre-free phenolic core with non-deleterious properties suitable for façade applications.
- Thickness suitability: 60mm suited to façades requiring moderate insulation depth for enhanced thermal performance.
Applications
- External wall insulation systems: Used as part of insulated render systems on masonry walls.
- Refurbishment schemes: Supports thermal upgrades to existing solid or cavity masonry walls.
- New build façades: Integrates into engineered EWI systems requiring phenolic insulation performance.
- Lightweight render systems: Provides a compatible substrate behind polymer-modified render finishes.
Installation Guidance
- Surface preparation: Ensure masonry substrates are sound, clean, dry, and capable of supporting the insulation and finish.
- Board fixing: Fix boards using system-appropriate mechanical fixings or adhesives as required by the EWI specification.
- Alignment and joints: Install boards tightly butted with staggered joints to maintain façade continuity.
- Render preparation: Apply reinforcing mesh, basecoat, and finish coats in accordance with render system guidance.
- Moisture considerations: Ensure detailing at openings and edges maintains weather protection and system integrity.
- Cutting procedure: Use a fine-toothed saw to achieve clean cuts and accurate edge alignment.
Compliance & Performance
- Thermal performance: Achieves thermal conductivities as low as 0.021 W/m·K for energy-efficient façade insulation.
- Environmental certification: Supported by a BRE Certified Environmental Product Declaration for phenolic boards.
- Management systems: Manufactured under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 37301, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001 management systems.
- Design standards: Condensation analysis should follow BS 5250 guidance; fire stops and cavity barriers must meet current Building Regulations.
- Material classification: Categorised as phenolic foam insulation under Uniclass and CAWS classifications.
- Important note: Always follow the complete EWI system specification, including fire stopping, render build-up, and fixing strategy.
