Q&A

what's the max lineload and required bearing

The minimum required bearing for lintels is 150mm on each side. Therefore, an 1800mm lintel is used for 1500mm openings and under. Typically the load-bearing capacity is 2.93kN/m for this size of lintel. However, we would always recommend that any installation of a structural nature be approved by a structural engineer.
