What is Gyproc CoreBoard?

British Gypsum Gyproc CoreBoard 3000mm x 598mm is a 19mm thick fire-resistant plasterboard crafted from Gyproc FireLine MR board. As a vital component of the British Gypsum ShaftWall system, it offers exceptional fire protection and temporary moisture resistance during construction.

Gyproc CoreBoard features an aerated gypsum core fortified with glass fibre, water-repellent additives, and other high-performance components. These elements are encased in and firmly bonded to strong paper liners, making Gyproc CoreBoard ideal for drylining internal surfaces.

Certified to BES 6001, the board achieves a 'Very Good' rating for its environmental and performance standards.

Where is Gyproc CoreBoard Used?

  • ShaftWall Systems: Essential for the British Gypsum ShaftWall system, it serves as the main board ensuring superior fire protection within the construction.
  • Internal Surface Drylining: Ideal for lining internal walls, providing a smooth and durable finish.
  • Fire-Resistant Construction: Suitable for various applications where high fire resistance is crucial.

Benefits of Gyproc CoreBoard

  • Superior Fire Protection: The non-combustible gypsum core delivers outstanding fire resistance, meeting national Building Regulations.
  • Temporary Moisture Resistance: Provides effective moisture protection during construction, although it is not designed for continuously damp or humid environments.
  • Robust Durability: Comprises glass fibre and other additives encased in strong paper liners to ensure long-lasting performance.
  • High Certification Standards: Certified to BES 6001 with a 'Very Good' rating, guaranteeing high environmental and performance standards.
  • Easy Installation: Designed for straightforward installation, with specific guidelines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Temperature Tolerance: Suitable for use in temperatures up to 49°C and can withstand freezing conditions without damage.

Gyproc CoreBoard Installation Guidelines

  • Preparation: Attach the boards with the decorative side facing outward and apply either a joint treatment or a skim plaster finish. Lightly butt boards together without forcing them into place.
  • Fixing Details: Install fixings at least 13mm from cut edges and 10mm from bound edges. Position cut edges to internal angles and stagger board joints by a minimum of 600mm.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
