“Moves Like Jagger” by Maroon 5 will get you moving at work: The top songs for productivity revealed

Do you ever wonder how you could be more productive? Well, after finding out that a whopping nine out of ten (91%) British workers listen to music while on the job, we wanted to find out if different types of music can affect your productivity levels. Not only that, we wanted to learn what songs might even make people more efficient at work.

We took Spotify’s top 30 most streamed songs of all time and asked 100 volunteer ‘song testers’ from a range of demographics, between the ages of 18 and 55 working in a variety of roles, including construction, office administration, catering and mechanical, to listen to the songs whilst working.

Study participants were asked to rate the songs based on how productive they were – such as how much work they got done while listening to them, as well as note down how the songs made them feel while working.

In the study, the song testers were free to listen to the songs whenever they wanted so long as they were carrying out similar tasks and were experiencing similar energy levels to keep variables as low as possible.

So after a lot of listening and productivity proving, we can reveal that according to our music maestros, Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera’s “Moves Like Jagger” tops the list of songs that are best to listen to if you want to be productive.
