Product Overview
GL8 galvanised steel liner track in 3000mm lengths for use within Gypliner wall lining systems.
Installed at the floor and ceiling to secure the base and head of GL1 liner studs, it provides a continuous fixing point and maintains correct stud positioning throughout the framework.
As the foundation component of the Gypliner system, the track defines the alignment and spacing of the vertical studs, ensuring stability and accurate wall formation.
The galvanised steel construction delivers durability, corrosion resistance, and long-term performance in both new-build and refurbishment applications.
Working in conjunction with GL1 liner studs, GL2 brackets, and associated channels, the GL8 track forms an essential element of the non-loadbearing wall lining framework.
Features & Benefits
- Defined fixing role: Provides secure base and head restraint for GL1 liner studs within wall lining systems.
- Accurate stud alignment: Establishes correct stud spacing and positioning, ensuring straight and stable wall frameworks.
- Galvanised steel construction: Strong, rigid, and corrosion-resistant for durable long-term service.
- System integration: Works with GL1 studs, GL2 brackets, and associated channels to form complete Gypliner assemblies.
- Framework stability: Prevents displacement or misalignment of studs, supporting overall structural consistency.
Applications
- Gypliner wall linings: Forms the base and head tracks to secure studs within the Gypliner system.
- Partition stability: Provides restraint and alignment for vertical studs in non-loadbearing wall linings.
- Performance frameworks: Supports systems designed to enhance acoustic, thermal, or fire performance.
- Refurbishment projects: Ensures stable stud fixing where existing wall conditions require a lining system.
Installation Guidance
- Preparation: Mark and fix GL8 track to floor and ceiling in line with design layout.
- Stud insertion: Position GL1 liner studs vertically into the track at the specified centres.
- Fixing check: Ensure track is securely fixed to substrates to prevent movement during installation.
- System integration: Complete the framework with brackets, channels, and plasterboard linings.
- Handling care: Avoid bending or distorting track sections to maintain correct fit and performance.
Compliance & Performance
- Material specification: Manufactured from galvanised steel for strength, rigidity, and corrosion resistance.
- System compatibility: Designed specifically for use with GL1 liner studs and associated drylining components.
- Structural performance: Provides stable restraint and positioning for non-loadbearing stud frameworks.
- Important note: Intended for use only within non-loadbearing drylining systems.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
