How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
GL1 galvanised steel liner stud for use within Gypliner wall lining systems.
Serving as the primary vertical framework member, this stud provides the structural support to which plasterboard sheets are fixed. By securing directly into GL8 track and GL2 brackets, it ensures stability, accurate alignment, and dimensional consistency across the wall surface.
Its use creates a straight and true substrate, making irregular or uneven masonry walls suitable for professional finishing. This prepares the surface for plasterboard installation, enabling smooth decorative finishes and supporting additional performance upgrades where required.
Manufactured from precision-rolled galvanised steel, the stud combines strength with corrosion resistance, ensuring reliability and long-term performance in both residential and commercial settings. Dimensional stability prevents twisting or bowing during service, maintaining a consistent framework.
At 3000mm length, it is suited to standard wall heights, reducing the need for intermediate joints and enabling uninterrupted vertical support. This simplifies installation, improves framework integrity, and enhances the quality of the finished lining system.
As part of the Gypliner drylining system, GL1 studs are used with GL2 brackets, GL8 track, and associated channels to form robust, non-loadbearing frameworks ready for boarding and finishing.
Features & Benefits
- Defined system role: Provides the vertical support framework within wall lining systems, forming the base structure for plasterboard linings.
- Accurate wall preparation: Creates a straight, stable, and dimensionally consistent substrate for smooth wall finishes.
- Galvanised steel construction: Strong, rigid, and corrosion-resistant for long-term performance in varied environments.
- Dimensional stability: Maintains alignment without twisting or bowing, ensuring reliable framework integrity.
- System integration: Used in combination with GL2 brackets, GL8 track, and associated channels as part of the complete Gypliner system.
Applications
- Gypliner wall linings: Primary vertical framework element for non-loadbearing drylining systems.
- Plasterboard fixing: Provides a secure substrate for attaching plasterboard sheets in residential, commercial, or refurbishment projects.
- Performance frameworks: Forms part of systems designed to enhance acoustic, thermal, and fire performance.
- Refurbishment projects: Ideal for correcting irregular or poor-quality wall surfaces to prepare for decorative finishes.
Installation Guidance
- Preparation: Fix GL8 track to floor and ceiling as base and head channels before inserting GL1 studs.
- Stud positioning: Insert studs into the track and align with GL2 brackets fixed to the substrate at specified centres.
- Alignment checks: Ensure studs are plumb and framework is square to achieve a straight and even wall surface.
- Stud spacing: Position studs at standard centres (typically 600mm, or as specified) to align with plasterboard sheet sizes.
- Service integration: Allow for cabling, insulation, or pipework within the cavity prior to boarding where required.
- Handling care: Avoid distortion or over-cutting of studs to preserve dimensional accuracy and system performance.
Compliance & Performance
- Material specification: Precision-rolled galvanised steel for strength, rigidity, and corrosion resistance.
- System compatibility: Designed specifically for use with GL2 brackets, GL8 track, and other Gypliner components.
- Structural performance: Provides stable vertical support for non-loadbearing drylining frameworks.
- Important note: Intended for use only within non-loadbearing drylining systems.
