Product Overview
Thermal Basic EPS Insulated Plasterboard measuring 22mm thick and 2400mm x 1200mm in size. A laminated board combining 9.5mm standard plasterboard with an expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation backing to improve thermal efficiency on internal walls and ceilings.
The composite structure reduces heat loss through solid walls, providing an immediate uplift in energy performance while maintaining minimal loss of internal room space.
Manufactured using CFC- and HCFC-free expanded polystyrene, the insulation layer offers stable thermal conductivity and low moisture absorption. The plasterboard face provides a smooth, durable surface suitable for direct painting, wallpapering, or plaster skim finishing.
At 22mm overall thickness, it is suited to refurbishment and lining applications where moderate thermal improvement is required within confined spaces.
Features & Benefits
- Laminated plasterboard and EPS core: Combines surface finish and insulation in one simple fixing operation.
- EPS insulation backing: Provides reliable thermal resistance and stable dimensional performance.
- CFC- and HCFC-free insulation: Environmentally safer material with low global warming potential.
- Lightweight construction: Easy to handle, cut, and install for rapid wall or ceiling lining.
- Compatible fixing options: Can be installed with adhesive dabs or mechanical fixings to suit different wall types.
- 22mm thickness: Suitable for shallow wall linings where minimal projection and moderate insulation are required.
Applications
- Internal wall upgrades: Reduces heat loss in solid or uninsulated walls.
- Ceiling linings: Adds insulation to ceilings or cold roof spaces.
- Room-in-roof conversions: Improves thermal performance in attic or loft refurbishments.
- Refurbishment works: Ideal for upgrading older properties with restricted space.
Installation Guidance
- Apply adhesive dabs or mechanical fixings: Ensures stable bonding to the substrate.
- Cut to size with a fine-tooth saw or knife: Enables precise fitting around openings and junctions.
- Seal joints before finishing: Prevents air leakage and improves insulation continuity.
- Maintain dry storage and handling: Protects plasterboard surface and prevents edge damage.
Compliance & Performance
- Manufactured to EN 13950: Meets European standard for laminated thermal boards.
- Thermal conductivity (EPS layer): Approx. 0.038 W/mK.
- Surface reaction to fire: Classified according to plasterboard face performance.
- Important note: Always fix in accordance with current building regulation guidance for internal wall insulation.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
