Product Overview

White primed MDF architrave in a torus profile, measuring 18mm x 68mm in a 4400mm length. Designed for use around doors and windows, this architrave conceals gaps between frames and plasterwork while providing a decorative surround.

The torus profile is defined by a rounded convex curve that rolls into a subtle step, producing strong shadow lines and traditional character. This creates a neat frame effect that adds definition to openings, complementing both period and modern interiors.

Manufactured from MDF, the board is stable, uniform, and free from knots or grain defects commonly found in natural timber. Its primed surface provides a consistent base ready to accept a chosen topcoat.

Supplied in long factory-cut lengths, the architrave installs cleanly and efficiently, ensuring consistent results across multiple openings in both refurbishment and new-build projects.

Features & Benefits

  • Decorative profile: Torus design with convex curve and step detail for defined surround.
  • Primed surface: Factory-applied primer ensures a smooth base ready for painting.
  • Durable MDF core: Stable, uniform material resists warping, twisting, or splitting.
  • Ease of installation: Straight lengths simplify mitre cutting, jointing, and fixing.
  • Standard width: 68mm format provides coverage for typical door and window surrounds.
  • Nominal size 18mm x 68mm: Suitable for a wide range of residential and commercial applications.

Applications

  • Door surrounds: Conceals gaps between frame and plaster for a neat finish.
  • Window casings: Provides a consistent decorative perimeter around windows.
  • Refurbishment work: Updates and refreshes worn or damaged architraves.
  • Decorative detailing: Adds traditional definition to openings in all interior styles.

Installation Guidance

  • Preparation: Ensure frames and walls are clean, dry, and level before fitting.
  • Cutting: Use fine-toothed saws for accurate mitres and smooth joints.
  • Fixing: Secure with adhesive, pins, or screws depending on substrate.
  • Jointing: Fill mitres and gaps with suitable filler for a seamless appearance.
  • Finishing: Apply chosen topcoat paint over factory primer for final finish.

Compliance & Performance

  • Material specification: Manufactured from medium density fibreboard (MDF).
  • Surface treatment: Factory primed with white basecoat.
  • Dimensional accuracy: Machined to consistent profile across full 4400mm length.
  • Handling guidance: Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture before installation.
  • Important note: Use suitable PPE when cutting MDF due to fine dust generation.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
