Product Overview

Kingspan GreenGuard XPS Extruded Polystyrene Insulation Board with a 100mm thickness and 300kPa compressive strength. A rigid, closed-cell thermal insulation material for floors, basements, and inverted roofs.

Its dense cellular structure delivers long-term durability under sustained load, maintaining both mechanical strength and thermal integrity beneath concrete slabs, paving, or ballast.

Resistant to water absorption, vapour transmission, and freeze/thaw cycling, it ensures consistent insulation even in demanding environmental conditions. Lightweight yet structurally stable, the boards are easy to cut and position, enabling rapid installation with precise joint alignment and no loss of compressive or thermal performance.

The 100mm thickness is suited to demanding insulation environments requiring enhanced energy performance.

Features & Benefits

  • High compressive strength: Withstands 300kPa load, supporting use under heavy floors or roof ballast.
  • Closed-cell structure: Prevents water ingress and maintains insulation properties in damp conditions.
  • Reliable thermal performance: Thermal conductivity typically 0.034 W/m·K for consistent energy efficiency.
  • Durable and lightweight: Resists damage during handling and installation while remaining easy to cut and shape.
  • Moisture resistant: Retains dimensional stability and mechanical performance when exposed to wet conditions.
  • Sustainability performance: Produced with zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and low global warming potential (GWP).
  • Thickness suitability: 100mm board thickness provides enhanced thermal resistance and mechanical stability.

Applications

  • Ground floors: Provides an insulation layer under screed or slab floors.
  • Inverted roofs: Suitable for thermal protection above waterproof membranes.
  • Foundations and perimeters: Effective where compressive strength and moisture resistance are essential.

Installation Guidance

  • Substrate preparation: Surfaces should be level, clean, and free from standing water.
  • Cutting: Score and snap or use a fine-toothed saw to achieve tight joints.
  • Fixing: Apply in staggered bond with adhesive or mechanical fixings appropriate to the substrate.
  • Protection: Shield from UV exposure and site traffic before covering.
  • Weather conditions: Avoid open flame or solvent contact during installation.
  • Storage: Store flat, under cover, and away from direct sunlight.

Compliance & Performance

  • Thermal conductivity: 0.034 W/m·K.
  • Compressive strength: 300kPa at 10% compression.
  • Water absorption: ≤ 0.7% by volume.
  • Manufacturing standard: EN 13164 for extruded polystyrene (XPS).
  • Environmental profile: Zero ODP, low GWP.
  • Important note: Always install per Kingspan technical guidance. Protect from ignition sources and prolonged sunlight exposure.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
