Product Overview

152kg Code 5 Roll of Milled Lead Flashing in a 1000mm width and 6m length, delivering approximately 6.0m² of coverage per roll.

Code 5 refers to a nominal thickness of 2.24mm, equating to 25.4kg per m², making it a heavy-duty grade suited to wider flashings and applications exposed to greater wind uplift or thermal movement.

At 1000mm wide, this roll is suited to full-width gutter linings, parapet cladding, wall coverings, and flat roof sections.

Manufactured to BS EN 12588, the milling process produces uniform thickness, fine grain structure, and a smooth finish for reliable installation.

Its purpose is to provide a malleable, durable, and completely waterproof seal at critical junctions - including abutments, chimneys, and parapets - preventing water ingress and extending the lifespan of the building fabric.

Application of patination oil after installation is essential to prevent carbonate staining.

Features & Benefits

  • Exceptional durability: Code 5 lead offers a proven service life exceeding many decades, resisting corrosion, UV degradation, and weathering.
  • Heavy-duty specification: At 2.24mm thickness, Code 5 provides increased resistance to wind uplift and thermal expansion compared to lighter grades.
  • Malleability: Despite its greater strength, Code 5 can still be dressed and shaped with hand tools to form complex roof details.
  • BS EN 12588 compliance: Manufactured to exacting European standards with consistent thickness and composition.
  • Sustainable material: Lead is 100% recyclable and frequently produced with high recycled content.
  • Coverage efficiency: Each 152kg roll provides 6.0m² of flashing material, reducing the need for joints.

Applications

  • Full-width gutters: Provides strong and durable linings for wide gutter systems.
  • Parapet cladding: Protects both vertical and horizontal parapet faces.
  • Wall coverings: Suitable for robust weatherproof wall cladding.
  • Flat roof weatherings: Ensures large-area coverage with minimal joints.
  • Industrial roofing: Used in commercial projects requiring extensive lead coverage.

Installation Guidance

  • Preparation: Ensure substrates are dry, sound, and free from debris.
  • Fixing: Secure with lead wedges or clips, allowing for expansion and contraction.
  • Lap joints: Provide minimum 150mm laps to maintain weatherproof integrity.
  • Patination oil: Apply immediately after fixing to prevent staining and enhance appearance.
  • Support: Provide adequate support beneath wider runs to reduce risk of fatigue cracking.

Compliance & Performance

  • Thickness: Code 5, 2.24mm nominal.
  • Weight: 25.4kg/m²; 152kg per roll at 1000mm x 6m (6.0m²).
  • Standard: Manufactured to BS EN 12588.
  • Durability: Resistant to corrosion, weathering, and UV degradation.
  • Sustainability: 100% recyclable, supporting responsible building practice.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
