Product Overview
40kg Code 3 Roll of Milled Lead Flashing in a 450mm width and 6m length, delivering 2.7m² of coverage per roll.
Code 3 refers to a thickness of 1.32mm, equating to 14.97kg per m², making it suitable for soakers, sheltered details, and lighter-duty weatherproofing where reduced weight and easier handling are required.
At 450mm wide, this size is suited to wide soakers, sheltered parapet details, and broad dormer flashings requiring extended cover. The 6m roll format provides extended length for large continuous sheltered detailing.
Manufactured to BS EN 12588, the milling process provides uniform thickness, fine grain structure, and a smooth finish for consistent dressing and shaping during installation.
Its purpose is to deliver a malleable, durable, and fully weatherproof junction at vulnerable roof connections - such as small chimneys, upstands, and roof abutments - ensuring long-term protection of the building envelope.
Application of patination oil after installation is essential to prevent carbonate staining and maintain appearance.
Features & Benefits
- Exceptional durability: Lead provides long service life with resistance to corrosion, UV exposure, and weathering.
- Malleability: Code 3 thickness offers easy dressing with hand tools, allowing accurate formation of tight details.
- Weatherproofing: Creates an impermeable barrier that prevents water penetration at roof junctions.
- BS EN 12588 compliance: Manufactured with consistent thickness and metallurgical quality.
- Sustainable material: Fully recyclable with high potential recycled content.
- Coverage efficiency: Each 40kg roll provides 2.7m² of flashing material, suited to wide sheltered continuous runs.
Applications
- Wide sheltered details: Provides suitable width for protected parapet and junction work.
- Wide soakers: Suitable for large-format soaker fabrication.
- Dormer flashings: Suitable for broad dormer cheek intersections.
- Roof junctions: Appropriate for various small roof intersection details.
Installation Guidance
- Preparation: Ensure substrates are dry, sound, and clear of debris.
- Fixing: Install with wedges or clips, allowing unrestrained movement for thermal expansion.
- Lap joints: Provide a 100mm lap on pitches above 30°, increasing to 150mm for lower pitches or more exposed locations.
- Patination oil: Apply immediately after fitting to prevent staining.
- Support: Provide adequate support beneath wider sections to reduce fatigue risk.
Compliance & Performance
- Thickness: Code 3, 1.32mm.
- Weight: 14.97kg/m²; 40kg per roll at 450mm × 6m (2.7m²).
- Standard: Manufactured to BS EN 12588.
- Durability: Resistant to corrosion, weathering, and UV exposure.
- Sustainability: 100% recyclable and suitable for responsible construction.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
