What Is British Gypsum Thistle Bonding Coat Plaster?

British Gypsum Thistle Bonding Coat Plaster is a versatile undercoat plaster that can be used on smooth or low suction backgrounds such as tiling, concrete, plasterboard or surfaces treated with Thistle Bond-it (a bonding agent used to pre-treat smooth and/or low suction backgrounds).

At its core, this lightweight, retarded hemihydrate is a pre-mixed gypsum plaster that comprises exfoliated vermiculite aggregate and only requires the incorporation of clean water to prepare it for application.

Thistle Bonding Coat Plaster boasts a fine mix that ensures improved workability - rendering it hassle-free when it comes to spreading, ruling and Darbying.

When used as a hard-wearing base coat for Thistle finish plaster, Thistle Bonding Coat makes for a smooth surface on internal walls and ceilings, as well as serving as a substantial base for a range of decorative finishes. Although, it's important to note, that pre-treatment is required for painted surfaces.

Where Is British Gypsum Thistle BondingCoat Plaster Used?

  • Ideal undercoat before skimming with British gypsum finishing plasters
