What is Postcrete?

Postcrete is a fast-setting, ready-to-use concrete mix formulated to fix all types of fence posts - including wooden, metal, and concrete. It contains a controlled blend of cement, graded sand, and performance-enhancing additives, eliminating the need for traditional mixing.

Designed for speed and ease of use, Postcrete is poured directly into a water-filled post hole. The powder reacts with the water in situ, beginning to set within 5-10 minutes. This rapid-setting makes it ideal for fencing projects where multiple posts need to be installed in a short space of time.

Commonly used for garden fencing, gateposts, rotary washing lines, and signage, Postcrete provides a solid, stable base without the mess or equipment required for traditional concrete mixes.

Its practical 20kg weatherproof packaging ensures it can be stored outside without degrading, and the bag is tough enough to withstand transport and handling on busy sites.

Applications

Postcrete is ideal for securing a wide range of vertical supports where speed and ease of use are key. Typical uses include:

  • Wooden and concrete fence posts
  • Metal fence posts and bollards
  • Small gateposts
  • Rotary washing lines
  • Signposts and decking supports
  • Garden structures like pergolas and arches

Whether you're replacing a fence or building from scratch, Postcrete speeds up installation without compromising strength.

Benefits

  • Sets quickly in just 5-10 minutes.
  • Ready to use with just the addition of clean water.
  • Minimum working temperature for Postcrete is 3°C.
  • A blend of sand, cement and additives.
  • Allows quick fence panel hanging in around 10 minutes.
  • Product formulated for fixing wooden, concrete and metal fence posts.
  • Comes in handy 20kg weatherproof, tear-resistant plastic bags.

How to Use Blue Circle Postcrete 20kg

  • Prepare the hole - Dig a hole that is three times the width of the post and at least one-third of the post height above ground.
  • Add water - Fill the hole with clean water to around one-third of its depth.
  • Pour in Postcrete - Add Blue Circle Postcrete directly into the hole, ensuring the dry powder completely covers the water surface. Lightly sprinkle water over the top if needed.
  • Position and level the post - Adjust the post as required, ensuring it is straight and in the correct position. The mixture will begin to firm up within 5-10 minutes.
  • Secure the post - Once set, cover the hole with soil or turf.
  • Fix fence panels - After 10 minutes, the post will be stable enough to attach fence panels.

Important Installation Notes
  • Do not mix Postcrete with water manually or with a machine - it is designed to set in place.
  • Check the manufacturer’s guidelines for the correct quantity of Postcrete needed for different post sizes.
