Brown pressure-treated softwood post, measuring 2400mm (8ft) in length with a 100mm x 100mm (4" x 4") section. The timber is treated under high pressure to resist rot, fungal decay, and insect attack, while the square-cut top allows for post caps or finials.
A strong, rigid post size for domestic fencing, it provides dependable support for 1.8m (6ft) panels (without gravel board) or 1.5m (5ft) panels with one gravel board. The 4x4 section is a standard choice for use throughout fence lines, including ends, corners, and gates.
Please Note: The finished size of our wooden posts vary slightly from the nominal dimensions. You can expect to receive timber that is finished to 95mm x 95mm. Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.
Delivery charges vary by product category and order value. Items may ship from different suppliers and arrive separately, so delivery charges can be shown per part of your order at checkout.

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
Thank you for your patience in waiting for this response. The two main options for this application are a standard multipurpose screw and wall plug, or a "thunder bolt' style fixing which requires no plug. It really is a personal choice, but like you I would be comfortable with the latter as these fixings are very strong and simple to install. Our Multi-Fix Countersunk Concrete Screws are our equivalent of these fixings. You would just need to select the correct length for the thickness of post and the substrate. Note also that you will need to pilot hole the wood and have the correct size masonry drill bit if you decide to use these screws. we wish you the best for this project.
