Product Overview

160mm Underground Drainage Bend manufactured from uPVC, conforming to BS EN 1401-1 for use in high-capacity foul and surface water systems.

Its uPVC construction provides strength, durability, and long-term resistance to corrosion and chemical attack.

This fitting connects via a double push-fit socket to plain-ended 160mm pipework, ensuring a secure and watertight joint without additional couplers.

Supplied as an 87.5° bend, it is typically used for near right-angle transitions from vertical soil stacks to horizontal underground pipework.

Features & Benefits

  • Robust uPVC body: Strong and durable material for long service life underground.
  • Corrosion resistant: Will not rust, rot, or degrade when buried.
  • Watertight push-fit seal: Ensures leak-free connections in foul and surface water systems.
  • Lightweight handling: Easy to transport, cut, and install on site.
  • Quick installation: Pipes push directly into the socket without special tools.
  • 87.5° bend: Creates near right-angle direction changes.
  • Double socket connection: Joins two 160mm plain-ended pipes directly.

Applications

  • High-capacity drainage: Used in larger residential, commercial, or civil engineering systems.
  • Soil stack transitions: Connects vertical pipes to horizontal drains.
  • Tight layouts: Used where a right-angle change is required.
  • Foul systems: Installed in sewage connections.
  • Surface water layouts: Suitable for stormwater systems.
  • Retrofits: Provides flexibility when adapting existing drainage.

Installation Guidance

  • Preparation: Cut pipe ends square, chamfer edges, and clean before joining.
  • Jointing: Push plain-ended pipe into socket until fully seated against seal.
  • Seal care: Avoid damaging rubber seal during insertion.
  • Bedding: Position on granular material to ensure support.
  • Backfilling: Use granular surround before final backfill to protect fitting.

Compliance & Performance

  • Standard: Manufactured to BS EN 1401-1.
  • Material: Unplasticised PVC (uPVC).
  • Connection: Double socket push-fit.
  • Applications: Underground foul and surface water systems.
  • Durability: Resistant to corrosion, chemicals, and ground conditions.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
