Product Overview
Standard MDF board, measuring 12mm thick and sized 3050mm x 1220mm (10' x 4'). Manufactured from compressed wood fibres, this engineered panel provides a smooth surface and reliable strength for non-structural interior applications.
Its extended length of 3050mm provides greater coverage per sheet, reducing the number of joints required in larger projects such as panelling or furniture construction. The fine, uniform texture ensures accurate machining, cutting, and drilling without splitting, while the sanded surfaces are ready for paint, veneer, or laminate.
Features & Benefits
- Dense construction: High-density board provides stability and reliable performance.
- Smooth surface: Fine sanded finish ready for painting, staining, or veneering.
- Easy to machine: Cuts cleanly without splitting; ideal for shaping and drilling.
- Defect-free material: Free from knots or grain irregularities.
- Cost-efficient: Affordable alternative to plywood or solid timber.
- Extended sheet size: 3050mm x 1220mm format reduces visible joints.
- Nominal thickness 12mm: Balanced strength-to-weight ratio for versatile use.
Applications
- Wall panelling: Decorative finishes with fewer joints over large areas.
- Cabinetry: Partitions, shelving, and carcasses.
- Furniture making: Doors, drawer fronts, and side panels.
- Joinery work: General non-structural interior projects.
Installation Guidance
- Preparation: Keep boards dry and acclimatise before installation.
- Cutting: Use sharp blades or CNC machines for accurate profiles.
- Fixing: Secure with screws, glue, or nails as appropriate.
- Finishing: Seal with solvent-based primer before painting or staining.
- Protection: Do not use in damp or wet environments.
Compliance & Performance
- Material specification: Medium density fibreboard (MDF).
- Surface finish: Smooth, sanded surface on both faces.
- Compliance: Conforms to BS EN622-1 for dry internal use, E1 formaldehyde rating.
- Important note: Not moisture-resistant; colour and finish may vary slightly.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
