Looking for durability and strength? 11mm OSB 3 is just what you need. Made of the tough stuff, 11mm OSB 3 is a moisture-resistant, structural panel purposed for use in a variety of internal and external applications including roofs, floors and walls.

OSB consists of multi-layered softwood flakes that are laid in specific orientations and hot-pressed to form a single versatile panel.

The result is a strong and durable board that makes a great alternative to plywood, ideal for shelving, sheds, display boards and other domestic uses, as well as commercial applications such as subfloors and roof decking.

OSB sterling board is free of knots and voids and performs well in humid conditions.

All of our structural OSB is FSC/PEFC chain of custody certified and is of excellent quality.

11mm OSB Board Applications

OSB boards are suitable for a wide range of exterior and interior applications, such as wall sheathing, roofing and flooring applications. Their strength renders them suitable for load-bearing and structural use, as well as long-term site hoardings due to their moisture-resistant properties. As well as being a strong construction board, OSB boards are also a great product for domestic and decorative applications.

We recommend 11mm OSB 3 for the following applications:

  • Building a garden shed or a summer house - great flooring or wall sheathing solution
  • In shop fittings - to provide racking or exhibition stands for heavy items
  • Wall sheathing
  • Flooring & roofing applications
  • Roof decking
  • Site hoarding
  • Sarking applications

11mm Structural OSB 3 Sterling Board Key Features

11mm OSB board is an engineered sheet material suited to a wide variety of general construction applications. The 'OSB' in its title (short for Oriented Strand Board) makes reference to its manufacturing process: which sees wood strands strategically oriented and compressed together with adhesive resin.

Aside from its strength, good quality OSB boards bring many benefits:

  • Easy to drill, nail, file and sand (suitable for interior and exterior)
  • The BBA classification permits use in a wide range of commercial and domestic situations
  • Unlike other materials, they do not require fancy equipment or fittings to be installed
  • Used extensively in renovation work and new projects
  • Stronger than chipboard products and non-structural plywoods
  • The boards are manufactured to EN 300 performance standards
  • BBA approved
  • Standard boards have consistent dimensions of 2440 x 1220 (or 8ft x 4ft)

For more technical specification depth, please refer to the manufacturer's datasheet.

OSB Board for Humid Conditions

OSB is the perfect sheet material to use in humid conditions. While the OSB2 board is only suitable for dry conditions, OSB3 board can withstand more challenging conditions. Despite this being the case, it is always a good idea to add further weather protection if you are planning to use it for permanent outdoor use.

You can do this by adding weather-proof exterior paint. Follow the exterior paint with a wood waterproofing sealant. Allow 12-14 hours for it to dry before installing it - you can add a second coat if required.
