Product Overview
Spring Toggle Plasterboard Fixings with a 5mm thread diameter and 100mm length. Designed for medium-duty hanging in extra-deep hollow walls where maximum cavity reach is needed.
Each fixing consists of a spring-loaded metal toggle and machine screw that expands behind the plasterboard to form a strong, secure hold. This provides a broad bearing surface to spread load and prevent pull-through in thin or weak wall panels.
Commonly used for shelves, mirrors, and support brackets in deep wall cavities or service zones, the 100mm screw length accommodates substantial voids behind panelling or ducting.
Features & Benefits
- Secure load distribution: Expanding toggle wings spread load over a wide area to prevent plasterboard damage.
- Reliable engagement: Spring-loaded mechanism ensures immediate toggle deployment behind the board.
- Corrosion-resistant finish: Zinc-plated steel components resist rust in interior environments.
- Reusable screw element: Machine screw can be removed and refitted without compromising fixing integrity.
- Extended cavity reach: 5mm thread diameter with 100mm length suited to deep or service-wall cavities.
Applications
- Deep wall fixings: For extended cavities or service ducts behind cladding.
- Shelving and supports: For standard or deep-mounted shelf supports.
- Mirrors and panels: For mirrors or fittings mounted on deep plasterboard systems.
- Service brackets: Fixes equipment brackets where additional reach is required.
Installation Guidance
- Drill pilot hole: Use the correct drill size to allow toggle wings to fold and pass through the wall.
- Insert folded toggle: Compress wings and push through the hole until the spring action opens the toggle behind the board.
- Draw toggle tight: Pull gently on the screw head to seat the toggle firmly against the inner board surface.
- Tighten screw: Fit the item to be fixed and tighten until secure - avoid overtightening.
Compliance & Performance
- Material specification: Zinc-plated steel toggle and screw assembly for strength and corrosion resistance.
- Compliance: Manufactured to relevant BS and EN fastener standards for general construction fixings.
- Important note: Ensure cavity is free of obstructions and do not use for structural or load-bearing applications.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
