Delivery & Returns Information
How Our Delivery Works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. As a result, items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you'll see multiple delivery charges at checkout. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery Areas & Charges
Delivery charges listed on our website apply to mainland UK, excluding the following postcode areas: AB, CF, DD, DG, FK, KW, IV, LA, LD, LL, NP, PA, PH, SA, SY
If your delivery address falls within one of these postcode areas, we’ll be in touch before processing your order to confirm any additional delivery costs.
Please note: We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

Product Overview
A142 reinforcement mesh with 6mm high-tensile bars set at 200mm centres, for light-duty concrete reinforcement.
A142 is a standard BS 4483 mesh (142g per m²) designed to control cracking in light domestic slabs such as paths, sheds, and floors.
When placed on spacers or chairs and embedded within 100-150mm of freshly poured concrete, the mesh bonds with the curing material to create a composite structure.
By distributing both compressive and tensile stresses, it significantly improves durability and reduces the risk of long-term cracking.
Each sheet measures 2400mm x 4800mm, reducing the number of panels required across a slab, minimising lap zones, and improving reinforcement continuity on larger pours. For continuity of reinforcement, sheets should be overlapped by at least one square (200mm) and tied securely with wire.
Features & Benefits
- A142 designation: Indicates a nominal weight of 142g/m², defining it as a light-duty mesh suitable for domestic concrete reinforcement.
- High tensile steel construction: Improves resistance to cracking, structural movement, and load stresses.
- Bonds with curing concrete: Creates a composite material that distributes stresses effectively.
- Resistance welded intersections: Enhances strength and durability at every joint.
- Light-duty reinforcement format: Reinforces domestic slabs, shed bases, patios, and paving.
- 6mm diameter reinforcement: Provides tensile strength for light-duty slabs and bases with depths of 100–150mm.
- 2400mm x 4800mm sheet size: Fewer lap joints improve reinforcement continuity.
Applications
- Concrete slabs (100–150mm thick): Provides effective reinforcement for light-duty slabs, preventing shrinkage cracking and improving load-bearing capacity.
- Shed bases: Adds stability and strength for small garden buildings and outbuildings.
- Patios and paving: Controls cracking in outdoor slabs subject to temperature change and ground movement.
- Light footings and walls: Enhances tensile performance in small-scale domestic foundations and retaining structures.
Installation Guidance
- Place on supports: Position mesh correctly within the slab depth for effective reinforcement.
- Tie overlaps: Secure adjoining sheets to maintain continuity and prevent movement.
- Maintain cover: Ensure adequate concrete cover to protect against corrosion.
Compliance & Performance
- High tensile reinforcement steel: Manufactured to BS 4483:2005 specifications.
- Meets BS 4449:2005 standards: Ensures compliance for reinforcement steel.
- Fully CE-certified: Approved for use in reinforced concrete applications.
- Resistance welded intersections: Guarantees strength and durability throughout the mesh.
