Product Description
Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural product.
These green-treated FSC sawn fencing boards, with dimensions of 3600 x 150 x 22mm (L x W x T), are suitable for scattershot fencing or for use as gravel boards. They are purposed to prevent fence panels and feather edge boards from coming into direct contact with the ground as a means to prolong the life of the fencing structure.
Green Treated Timber
When you imagine green treated timber, it is natural to envision a bright green hue comparable to that of freshly-mowed grass. However, the term "green wood" actually has nothing to do with its colour; rather than being green in shade, green timber is simply a wooden tone interspersed with subtle hints of green.
The distinctive green tinge seen in green-treated timber is not the intended shade, but rather a natural outcome from pressure treating it - an effective process designed to extend its life expectancy and make it more durable.
The copper-based preservatives used in this method react with oxygen, causing the timber's surface to oxidise and thus become slightly green.
