Product Overview

18mm OSB3 tongue-and-groove flooring board, measuring 2400mm x 590mm (8' x 2').

Each board is manufactured from strands of softwood arranged in cross-oriented layers, bonded with moisture-resistant resin, and hot-pressed to form a dense, structural panel with excellent strength and stability.

The tongue-and-groove edges are precision-machined to ensure a tight interlock between boards, helping to minimise deflection, reduce squeaks, and produce a flush, even surface ready for direct coverings.

With its OSB3 classification, the panel is designed for load-bearing use in both dry (Service Class 1) and humid (Service Class 2) conditions, making it a dependable choice for flooring, flat or pitched roofing, and wall sheathing where durability and moisture resistance are critical.

Features & Benefits

  • OSB3 classification: Suitable for structural, load-bearing use in humid service conditions (Service Class 1 & 2).
  • Engineered from oriented wood strands with resin binders: Provides resistance to rot, fungal decay, and swelling.
  • Tongue-and-groove edge profile: Ensures secure jointing, reduces movement, and creates a flush surface.
  • Smooth, uniform surface: Suitable for direct coverings or secondary finishes.
  • Workable timber panel: Can be cut, screwed, nailed, or glued using standard tools.
  • Board length 2400mm (8ft): Designed for rapid installation across joists or rafters.
  • Thickness 18mm, width 590mm: Provides reliable structural strength with manageable handling.

Please Note: Colour and finish are representative only and may vary slightly as this is a natural timber-based product. Additional weatherproofing is recommended if used externally for prolonged exposure.

Applications

  • Roof decking: Reliable choice for structural roof build-ups in humid service conditions.
  • Wall sheathing: Provides racking strength and structural stability in timber frame construction.
  • Furniture and fit-out use: Can be adapted for non-structural purposes such as signboards, furniture, or concealment panels.
  • Mezzanine flooring: Structural 18mm thickness provides a rigid, high-capacity decking solution for industrial platforms and storage mezzanines.
  • Garage flooring overlay: Moisture-resistant OSB3 construction creates a durable, thermally improved floor surface when installed over concrete bases with a suitable damp proof membrane.
  • Garden room and office flooring: Certified structural board provides the necessary load-bearing capacity for habitable timber-frame buildings in compliance with building regulations.

Installation Guidance

  • Tongue-and-groove jointing: Boards slot securely together; edges may also be glued for added stability.
  • Fixing method: Panels can be screwed or nailed directly to joists or rafters; secret nailing is recommended for a flush finish.
  • Moisture protection: For permanent external use, apply exterior paint and a waterproofing sealant, allowing full drying before installation.

Compliance & Performance

  • Preservative treatment / classification: OSB3 manufactured with waterproof adhesives and edge-sealed for resistance to swelling in humid environments.
  • Service class: Classified for use in Service Class 1 (dry) and Service Class 2 (humid) applications in line with BS EN 300.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
