What Is 10mm Rebar?

10mm Rebar is a high-strength steel reinforcement bar primarily made from carbon steel. It is specifically designed for reinforcing concrete and masonry structures where additional tensile strength and stability are needed. With a diameter of 10 millimetres, this rebar strikes the perfect balance between strength and flexibility, making it ideal for smaller-scale and medium-load concrete applications.

Commonly referred to as "deformed" rebar, the 10mm bar features a textured surface with ridges that improve its grip within the concrete. This texture ensures a strong bond between the rebar and the surrounding material, helping to prevent displacement and enhance the overall stability and durability of the structure.

Why 10mm?

  • Ideal for light structural applications such as small slabs, driveways, and pathways.
  • Choose this for smaller-scale, lower-load projects like residential buildings, or when budget constraints are important.

Why 3000mm?

This rebar measures 3000mm (3 meters) in length, providing a more flexible and manageable option compared to the 6000mm rebar, while maintaining the same 10mm diameter and high tensile strength. It is ideal for smaller-scale concrete projects or applications where exact lengths are necessary.

The 3000mm length makes it easier to handle, transport, and cut, making it a practical choice for projects with tight spaces or where precision is crucial. Its shorter size is perfect for reducing waste and allows for easier customisation on-site.

Applications

10mm rebar is commonly utilised in various construction projects where moderate reinforcement is required. It finds extensive use in smaller-scale domestic tasks such as patio or driveway construction, providing the necessary support and stability for these structures.

  • Slabs - Strengthens concrete slabs, preventing cracking and ensuring even load distribution.
  • Columns - Enhances the load-bearing capacity of vertical structures, helping them withstand compression and tension forces.
  • Beams - Provides crucial support by reinforcing beams against bending stresses and reducing the risk of structural failure.
  • Other Structural Elements - Used in a wide range of reinforced concrete projects, including foundations and walls to improve overall strength and stability.

Benefits

  • Utilised as a tension device to strengthen concrete structures
  • High quality steel reinforcement for cast concrete application
  • Concrete adheres to the bar to create a stable and bonded structure
  • Can be welded before concrete is poured

How To Cut

10mm rebar can be cut to the desired size with reciprocating saws with either a bi-metal or diamond grit blade. Due to rebar's tough composition, cutting should only be attempted with the appropriate cutting tools, equipment and PPE.
