Product Overview

EPS70 Polystyrene Insulation Board with a 2400mm length, 1200mm width, and 100mm thickness.

Manufactured from expanded polystyrene beads fused into a rigid, lightweight sheet, this board provides reliable compressive strength and dimensional stability across a broad range of construction applications.

Rated to EPS70 grade, it achieves a compressive strength of 70kPa, making it suitable for use beneath non-load-bearing floors, walls, and roofs where lighter or less demanding applications are required. While not classed as a structural material, EPS70 retains its shape and support under typical domestic floor loads and general insulation build-ups.

Designed for use in floors, walls, and roofs, it offers easy handling, precise cutting, and quick installation. The overall dimensions of 2400mm x 1200mm x 100mm offer maximum material depth for improved basic thermal resistance.

Features & Benefits

  • Compressive strength 70kPa: EPS70 rating delivers adequate stability for non-structural flooring, wall, and roof insulation.
  • Lightweight composition: Easy to handle, cut, and fit with standard tools, reducing installation time.
  • Multi-application suitability: Compatible with floors, walls, and roofs in both new-build and retrofit projects.
  • Board size 2400mm x 1200mm x 100mm: Provides maximum thickness within the EPS70 range for deeper void filling and standard-grade insulation performance.

Applications

  • Floor insulation: Suitable beneath ground-bearing screeds or suspended floors where moderate compressive performance is sufficient.
  • Wall lining and cavity fill: Provides stable, low-cost insulation in internal linings or cavity wall applications.
  • Roof insulation: Used under flat or pitched roofs within ventilated or protected systems.
  • Perimeter insulation: Maintains insulation continuity at slab edges, foundations, or external wall junctions.

Installation Guidance

  • Surface preparation: Ensure substrate is level, clean, and dry before laying boards.
  • Board fixing: Lay boards tightly with staggered joints to prevent thermal bridging.
  • Adhesive or mechanical fixing: Use approved insulation adhesives or fixings suited to substrate and application.
  • Cutting: Trim boards with a fine-toothed saw or hot wire cutter for accurate fitting.
  • Protection: Avoid prolonged UV exposure and protect from solvents or hydrocarbons.

Compliance & Performance

  • Material specification: Expanded polystyrene insulation conforming to BS EN 13163.
  • Compressive strength: Minimum 70kPa at 10% compression.
  • Thermal conductivity: Typical value 0.038 W/m·K.
  • Important note: Always verify compatibility with adhesives and finishes to ensure material integrity.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
