Product Overview
Metal Insulation Support Fixings with an 8mm shank diameter and 60mm length. Designed for securing insulation boards, panels, and lightweight facings to masonry or concrete substrates, these fixings provide a reliable mechanical hold in both solid and hollow materials.
Manufactured from corrosion-resistant zinc-plated steel, the design ensures long-term stability in internal and sheltered external applications. The integrated washer head offers broad load distribution, preventing damage or compression to insulation surfaces.
The precision-formed expansion zone delivers consistent grip strength across variable substrate densities.
8 x 60mm size is ideal for thin insulation panels, providing dependable retention depth in general-purpose wall and soffit installations.
Features & Benefits
- Strong mechanical anchoring: Provides secure, load-bearing attachment for insulation materials on masonry and concrete surfaces.
- Corrosion-resistant construction: Zinc-plated steel resists rust and oxidation, maintaining long-term integrity in damp or humid environments.
- Integrated washer head: Broad steel washer distributes pressure evenly, preventing surface crushing or pull-through on soft insulation boards.
- Controlled expansion design: Expansion section ensures tight, uniform engagement in drilled holes, even in uneven substrates.
- Thermal stability: Metal body maintains consistent grip under varying temperature conditions without deformation.
- Size - 8 x 60mm: Suitable for thin insulation panels requiring secure embedment and stable fixing depth.
Applications
- External wall insulation: For fastening insulation boards to solid brick, block, or concrete substrates.
- Internal dry-lining systems: Used to retain thermal or acoustic insulation behind wall linings and partitions.
- Ceiling and soffit insulation: Secure installation of overhead insulation panels with reliable load-bearing capacity.
- Service duct and void insulation: Provides durable fixing of insulation around building service routes.
Installation Guidance
- Drill preparation: Use an 8mm diameter masonry bit to the full 60mm depth to ensure proper embedment.
- Hole cleaning: Remove dust and debris before inserting the fixing to achieve full expansion.
- Fixing insertion: Insert the metal anchor through the insulation board and tap gently into place until flush with the surface.
- Expansion setting: Drive the central pin or screw to activate the expansion section, achieving a tight mechanical lock.
- Inspection: Confirm fixings are secure and washers sit flat without distortion or over-compression.
Compliance & Performance
- Material composition: Zinc-plated carbon steel for enhanced corrosion protection and mechanical strength.
- Performance rating: Designed for medium-load applications in concrete, brick, and block substrates.
- Thermal classification: Suitable for insulation systems operating between -20°C and +80°C.
- Environmental compliance: Manufactured to meet RoHS and REACH standards for material safety.
- Important note: Always verify substrate condition and insulation type before installation to ensure correct fixing selection and performance.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
