Product Overview

Steel Square Plate Washers with an M10 clearance hole and 50mm x 50mm plate size. These robust mild steel washers provide wide load distribution for 10mm diameter bolts and fixings, ensuring structural integrity and protection against surface deformation.

The square form offers maximum edge contact under tightening torque, ideal for timber and steel fabrication. The galvanised finish ensures resistance to corrosion and long-term mechanical performance.

The M10 clearance hole suits standard M10 bolts in general construction and assembly work.

Features & Benefits

  • Square profile: Provides increased bearing area and edge contact for superior load distribution.
  • Durable steel construction: Manufactured from mild steel for strength and structural reliability.
  • Galvanised protection: Resists corrosion in exposed or damp conditions for long-term service life.
  • Precision drilled hole: Ensures accurate fit around M10 bolts or threaded rods.
  • Load spreading: Reduces surface crushing and pull-through on timber, steel, and masonry surfaces.
  • M10 specification: 50mm x 50mm plate with M10 clearance hole for 10mm threaded fixings.

Applications

  • Timber connections: Distributes pressure from 10mm bolts across larger bearing surfaces.
  • Steel fabrication: Used under nuts or bolt heads for medium-duty joints.
  • Concrete anchoring: Provides a firm seating for expansion and through-bolts.
  • General construction: Reliable reinforcement for bolted structural or framing assemblies.

Installation Guidance

  • Positioning: Place washer squarely beneath bolt head or nut to ensure full surface contact.
  • Tightening: Apply uniform torque; avoid over-tightening to maintain substrate integrity.
  • Corrosion control: Use galvanised or coated fasteners of compatible finish in external environments.
  • Inspection: Check washers regularly in structural assemblies for signs of wear or corrosion.

Compliance & Performance

  • Material grade: Manufactured from mild steel to EN 10025 standards.
  • Surface finish: Hot-dip galvanised for enhanced corrosion resistance.
  • Dimensional accuracy: Produced to conform with BS EN ISO 7089/7093 standards where applicable.
  • Mechanical performance: Suitable for structural and general-purpose bolted connections.
  • Important note: Use only with matching bolt diameters to maintain load performance and safety compliance.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
