How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview

Durable clay facing brick for external walling. Suitable for housing and commercial builds. Grey tone with rustic finish for a contemporary yet traditional aesthetic.

Clay facing unit for external and internal masonry where a durable, colour-stable appearance is required. Fired body gives long-term weathering resistance and consistent appearance in elevation.

Standard UK format coordinates efficiently with 10mm mortar joints for rapid coursing and clean bond lines. Compatible with common bonds and detailing including reveals, plinths, and returns.

Suitable for use as an outer leaf in cavity wall construction, freestanding walls and architectural features when specified to the project exposure class.

Features & Benefits

  • Durable fired clay body: Inherent weathering resistance and colour stability for long service life in exposed conditions.
  • Consistent UK work size: Coordinates with 10mm joints for accurate gauging, bond alignment and efficient setting-out.
  • Versatile application: Suitable for outer leaf, internal feature walls and freestanding walls when detailed to standard practice.
  • Compatibility with standard mortars: Works with designed or prescribed mortars in accordance with BS EN 998-2; select strength and workability for site conditions.
  • Fire performance: Non-combustible clay unit appropriate for use on buildings of any height, subject to system specification.
  • Size (work size): 215mm x 65mm provides 225mm course heights at 10mm joints and aligns with standard lintels, ties and accessories.

Applications

  • Outer leaf cavity walls: Primary facing skin for residential and commercial facades.
  • Boundary and garden walls: Durable outer leaf for freestanding walls when designed to relevant loading.
  • Extensions and infill: Colour/texture matching or complementary finishes for additions to existing buildings.
  • Architectural detailing: Soldier courses, plinths, piers and banding using standard units and specials where required.
  • Refurbishment and repairs: Visual compatibility for selective replacement in existing brickwork where the finish suits.

Installation Guidance

  • Check exposure and specification: Confirm freeze/thaw and soluble salt class for site conditions before ordering.
  • Set-out and gauge: Establish datum and course heights; maintain 10mm joints for consistent bond and alignment.
  • Mortar selection: Choose mortar type and joint profile to BS EN 998-2 and project design for durability and appearance.
  • Laying practice: Lay on full beds with filled perpend joints; keep faces clean and avoid smearing to preserve texture.
  • Movement and restraint: Provide movement joints, ties and restraint fixings to PD 6697 and project engineer requirements.
  • Protection and cleaning: Protect fresh work from rain and frost; use manufacturer-approved methods for post-construction cleaning.

Compliance & Performance

  • Product standard: Manufactured and assessed in accordance with BS EN 771-1 with UKCA/CE conformity via Declaration of Performance.
  • Durability classification: Freeze/thaw (F1/F2) and soluble salt content (S1/S2) declared per product; select to suit exposure.
  • Mechanical and physical values: Compressive strength and water absorption vary by product; verify against the manufacturer’s DoP.
  • Reaction to fire: Clay brickwork is Class A1 (non-combustible) under BS EN 13501-1.
