Product Overview

Everbuild Everflex 225 Industrial & Glazing Silicone supplied in a 295ml cartridge is a mid-modulus, acetoxy-cure silicone sealant formulated for glazing and general industrial applications. It forms a durable, high-strength waterproof seal on smooth, non-porous materials such as glass, aluminium, steel, and uPVC.

Designed for both sealing and bonding, it provides excellent flexibility after curing and withstands temperature variations up to +200°C, making it suitable for interior and exterior use. Its fast skinning and curing characteristics allow for efficient application in both workshop and on-site environments.

The black colour provides a smooth, uniform finish suited to dark-framed glazing, metalwork, and industrial assemblies.

Features & Benefits

  • Mid-Modulus Acetoxy-Cure Formulation: Delivers strong, flexible bonding and sealing performance on smooth, non-porous surfaces.
  • Fast Curing and Easy Tooling: Skins within minutes to allow rapid finishing with minimal dirt pickup during cure.
  • Temperature Resistant to +200°C: Suitable for industrial and glazing applications exposed to elevated or fluctuating temperatures.
  • Waterproof and Weather Durable: Provides a watertight seal for long-term protection in both internal and external environments.
  • Excellent Adhesion: Bonds effectively to glass, aluminium, steel, uPVC, and many coated or polished materials.
  • Black Colour Finish: Produces a clean, uniform joint line ideal for use with dark window frames, curtain walling, and industrial components.

Applications

  • Glazing Seals: Suitable for single-glazing, butt glazing, and channel glazing of glass and metal.
  • Metal and Aluminium Sealing: Bonds and seals glass-to-metal and metal-to-metal joints.
  • uPVC Trims and Panels: Acts as an adhesive and sealant for fitting trims, cladding, and perimeter joints.
  • Industrial Assembly: Used for gasket sealing, machinery assembly, and general maintenance sealing.
  • Worktop and Panel Joints: Ideal for sealing between laminated panels and work surfaces.
  • Gutter and Roof Details: Suitable for sealing aluminium gutters and similar joints.

Installation Guidance

  • Surface Preparation: Ensure all substrates are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or old sealant residues.
  • Priming: Porous surfaces may require priming; test a small area prior to full application.
  • Application Method: Apply using a standard cartridge gun, cutting the nozzle at a 45° angle slightly larger than the joint width.
  • Joint Design: Maintain correct depth-to-width ratios, avoiding three-sided adhesion for maximum flexibility.
  • Finishing: Smooth the sealant within 10 minutes using a spatula or wetted tool for a neat joint appearance.
  • Cleaning: Remove uncured material with white spirit; use Everflex Silicone Eater for cured sealant removal.

Compliance & Performance

  • Material Type: Acetoxy-cure silicone rubber.
  • Hardness and Strength: Shore A 15–25; tensile strength 1.2 MPa; elongation at break >400%.
  • Movement Capability: ±20% to accommodate joint expansion and contraction.
  • Temperature Resistance: Service range from -40°C to +200°C.
  • Certified Standard: EN15651 compliant for façade, glazing, cold climate, and sanitary applications.
  • Important Note: Not recommended for use on bituminous, natural stone, or food contact surfaces; not suitable where overpainting is required.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
