Product Overview

Brown Treated Timber Fence Post Cap measuring 100mm x 100mm. Designed to protect and finish the top of square fence posts, it prevents water ingress and surface splitting, extending the lifespan of the timber beneath.

Manufactured from high-quality softwood, the cap is pressure treated with a brown preservative to resist decay, fungal attack, and weathering. Its smooth-planed finish provides a clean, uniform appearance that complements a wide range of garden fencing styles.

The cap fits securely over standard timber posts, offering both functional protection and a decorative finishing detail. At 100mm x 100mm, it provides a close, precise fit to standard 3" x 3" fence posts, ensuring effective water run-off and long-term durability.

Features & Benefits

  • Pressure-treated softwood: Provides resistance against rot, fungal decay, and moisture damage.
  • Brown preservative finish: Matches treated fencing for a consistent, natural appearance.
  • Smooth-planed surface: Delivers a refined and uniform decorative finish.
  • Protective design: Reduces water penetration and minimises end-grain splitting.
  • Easy to install: Fixes securely to the top of square timber posts with exterior-grade screws.
  • 100mm x 100mm size: Provides a close fit to standard 3" x 3" posts for secure coverage and effective protection.

Applications

  • Fencing systems: Adds protection and visual finish to timber post tops.
  • Garden boundaries: Enhances durability of perimeter and decorative fencing.
  • Decking posts: Suitable for use with square timber deck supports for a uniform appearance.
  • Outdoor structures: Complements pergolas and screening posts in treated timber.

Installation Guidance

  • Align squarely over post top: Ensures correct coverage and visual symmetry.
  • Pre-drill and screw fix: Secures the cap firmly and prevents timber splitting.
  • Apply sealant if required: Further enhances moisture resistance on exposed surfaces.
  • Inspect periodically: Maintain treatment condition to prolong service life.

Compliance & Performance

  • Treated to Use Class 3 standard: Suitable for external use above ground level.
  • Softwood timber source: Responsibly sourced and treated for outdoor durability.
  • Preservative treatment: Provides long-term protection against fungal decay and insects.
  • Important note: Always wear gloves when handling treated timber and cut ends should be re-treated after modification.

How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
