How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
Bostik Cementone Colour for Cement in Black is a concentrated powder pigment formulated for colouring cement-based materials such as concrete, mortars, renders, and screeds. It uses finely ground, lightfast carbon black pigments that disperse easily into dry mixes, ensuring even colour distribution throughout the cured material.
When incorporated correctly, it produces consistent, through-coloured results rather than surface coatings, giving long-lasting and UV-stable shades ranging from deep black to charcoal grey tones.
The formulation does not compromise the mechanical strength, setting characteristics, or durability of cementitious materials, making it suitable for a broad range of decorative and functional interior and exterior applications.
Features & Benefits
- Vibrant, lightfast colour: Contains high-quality carbon black pigment that produces dense black tones with excellent resistance to UV fading and weathering.
- Uniform dispersion: The fine powder integrates evenly within dry cement and sand mixes, ensuring complete colour consistency in the finished product.
- No structural impact: When used within recommended dosage limits, it does not affect setting time, compressive strength, or long-term durability of the mix.
- Customisable shades: Pigment dosage can be varied from 1:20 to 1:10 by weight (pigment to cement) to achieve shades from mid-grey to deep black.
- Colour stability: Lightfast and alkali-resistant pigments provide reliable performance in both interior and exterior conditions.
- Mixing accuracy: Designed to be measured by weight, ensuring reproducible colour batches for continuous or large-area applications.
- Compatibility with additives: Can be used in conjunction with Bostik Mortar Plasticiser or Bostik Integral Waterproofer to improve workability and reduce efflorescence.
Applications
- Coloured concrete: Ideal for decorative paths, patios, driveways, and precast elements requiring a durable black or dark grey tone.
- Mortars: Produces coloured jointing and pointing mortars to match or contrast with various brick types in both modern and restoration projects.
- Renders: Suitable for achieving black or slate-toned finishes in interior or exterior wall renders.
- Screeds: Used to create coloured floor screeds or as a base layer beneath other finishes where a dark tinted appearance is required.
Installation Guidance
- Dry mixing: Add the Black pigment directly to the dry cement and mix thoroughly before introducing sand or aggregates.
- Uniform distribution: Ensure pigment particles are evenly dispersed throughout all dry components before adding water.
- Water addition: Introduce gauging water gradually to achieve desired workability, maintaining consistent water-to-cement ratios between batches.
- Colour testing: Always prepare a small trial mix using site materials and allow full curing to confirm colour suitability before large-scale use.
- Consistency control: Use identical cement, sand, aggregate sources, and pigment batches for all continuous applications to avoid shade variation.
- Efflorescence reduction: For external or decorative finishes, adding Bostik Mortar Plasticiser or Bostik Integral Waterproofer can help reduce lime bloom and enhance long-term colour retention.
Compliance & Performance
- Pigment type: High-purity, carbon black pigment designed for cementitious systems.
- Colour fastness: Tested for UV and alkali resistance to ensure durable, non-fading performance.
- Performance range: Suitable for both structural and decorative cement-based materials when used within recommended dosage levels.
- Mix ratio guidance: Typical use is 1 part pigment to 20 parts cement by weight for standard black tone; may increase to 1:10 for deeper tones.
- Important note: Always mix by weight, not volume, and conduct a full trial to verify colour accuracy. Do not exceed maximum dosage rate or mix with other colourants unless approved by the manufacturer.
