Product Overview
Perimeter Strip with an 8mm thickness, 100mm width and 50m length is a flexible edging material designed to accommodate floor movement and protect screed or acoustic floor systems.
Manufactured from resilient foam, it forms a compliant buffer between the screed and surrounding walls or structural elements. The strip absorbs expansion forces generated during curing and thermal cycling, reducing the likelihood of cracking or perimeter stress. Its lightweight structure ensures clean, accurate placement along room perimeters and around service penetrations.
By maintaining a defined separation between hard surfaces, it assists in limiting sound transmission and preventing rigid contact points in floating floor systems.
The strip supports consistent floor performance by enabling controlled expansion while maintaining neat, continuous boundary detailing.
Suitable for residential and commercial flooring installations, it integrates effectively with most screed types and floating acoustic assemblies.
Features & Benefits
- Expansion allowance: Accommodates screed movement during curing and temperature changes to reduce cracking along room perimeters.
- Acoustic isolation: Creates a compliant buffer to minimise rigid contact points that can transmit structure-borne sound.
- Flexible foam structure: Conforms easily to wall lines and corners for continuous, uniform edging.
- Ease of handling: Lightweight design enables quick installation around perimeters and service penetrations.
- Neat boundary formation: Helps maintain clean detailing between screed surfaces and adjacent walls or fixtures.
- Defined thickness, width and length: The 8mm thickness, 100mm width and 50m length deliver reliable fit and efficient perimeter coverage.
Applications
- Screed perimeters: Provides compliant edging to accommodate floor expansion and prevent perimeter cracking.
- Floating floor systems: Offers acoustic separation between the screed layer and surrounding walls.
- Partition interfaces: Supports movement isolation around partition bases and door thresholds.
Installation Guidance
- Surface preparation: Ensure wall surfaces and floor edges are clean and free of debris before fixing the strip.
- Strip alignment: Roll out the strip around the room perimeter, maintaining continuous vertical contact with the wall surface.
- Fixing application: Secure the strip with suitable adhesive or mechanical fixing where required to prevent displacement.
- Corner detailing: Press firmly into corners and recesses to maintain uninterrupted movement allowance.
- Trim after screed: Once screed is cured, remove or trim any excess strip above the finished floor level.
Compliance & Performance
- Material specification: Manufactured from resilient foam to support long-term flexibility and perimeter compliance.
- Movement control: Designed to absorb screed expansion forces and maintain separation from rigid structural elements.
- Acoustic behaviour: Provides a compliant boundary layer that limits structure-borne sound transfer.
- Important note: Always install according to flooring manufacturer guidance to maintain declared expansion and acoustic performance.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
