How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview
C24 strength-graded structural softwood, kiln-dried, regularised, and treated for demanding applications in floors, roofs, and primary beams.
150mm width in a 6m length provides solid support in floors and roofs across wide spans, while the 75mm thickness offers a broad bearing face for connectors and hangers, reducing bounce and flex with consistent performance.
Features & Benefits
- Strength grading (C24): Higher density and stiffness than C16, suitable for demanding load-bearing roles.
- Factory applied preservative treatment: Protects timber in typical above-ground conditions when installed properly.
- Kiln-dried & regularised: Helps control shrinkage and ensures even sizing for accurate work.
- Eased edges: Safer handling and a cleaner finish with reduced splinter risk.
- Sawn face texture: Provides a stable key for membranes, adhesives, and coatings.
- Easy to work: Accepts nails, screws, bolts, and hangers; generous section helps avoid splitting near fixings.
- Length - 6m: Provides maximum coverage and stability across wide spans.
- 75mm thickness: Broad bearing and connection area supports bolted joints, hangers, and notches with better edge distances.
- Section size - 75mm x 150mm (6" x 3"): Large structural section for strength-critical carcassing.
Please Note: Timber may be supplied with engineered finger-joints. Engineered timber has a glue line that is stronger than the timber itself; it also has all defects and knots removed. This makes engineered timber 60% stronger than its solid timber alternatives.
Applications
- Primary beams and trimmers: Broad 75mm face improves bearing, bolt capacity, and hanger seating in load paths and openings.
- Roof members: Suitable for rafters, purlins, and ceiling joists where both depth and width resist deflection.
- Structural framing and lintels: Robust carcassing where higher stiffness and connection capacity are needed.
Installation Guidance
- Set out timbers evenly: Ensures consistent load distribution and prevents material warping.
- Use galvanised or stainless fixings: Protects against corrosion and prolongs service life outdoors.
- Maintain ventilation gaps: Supports insulation performance and prevents trapped moisture behind structural cladding.
- End-grain protection: Seal all cut ends and notches with a suitable end-grain preservative product to maintain treatment integrity.
Compliance & Performance
- Preservative treatment: Pressure treated with Tanalith E for durability and resistance to fungal decay and insect attack.
- Service conditions: Intended for use above ground, where timber may be subject to occasional moisture but not constant wetting or ground contact.
- Dimensional tolerance: Finished sizes typically arrive slightly under nominal, often around 2mm less in thickness and 5mm less in width.
- Natural variation: Colour and surface appearance vary naturally and by treatment batch.
- Moisture disclaimer: Timber is often stored outside and if it has recently been raining then the timber may arrive wet; this does not affect the integrity of the timber.
- Important note: Colour and finish may vary from green to brown depending on the treatment process; this product is C24 graded and suitable for structural applications.
