How delivery works

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.

Delivery areas

Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.

If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.

What to expect on delivery day

  • Deliveries are typically kerbside.
  • Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
  • Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.

Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery

Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.

Returns

Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Product Overview

70mm Metal C Stud in a 3600mm length, manufactured from galvanised steel, providing strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term dimensional accuracy.

Precision roll-formed edges create a rigid framework that holds plasterboard securely in place and ensures walls are straight and true.

Its 70mm cavity offers more depth than slimmer studs, creating additional space for electrical conduits, pipework, and insulation. This makes it the preferred option for standard domestic walls and light commercial partitions that require a practical balance of strength, service capacity, and acoustic improvement.

The 3600mm length provides full coverage for extended wall heights, reducing the need for horizontal joints and ensuring a stable, continuous finish.

Features & Benefits

  • Galvanised protection: Zinc coating shields against corrosion during storage, installation, and service life.
  • Precision roll-formed edges: Consistent alignment and rigidity support accurate wall construction.
  • Practical handling: Still lightweight enough to lift and cut easily, while providing greater rigidity than slimline studs.
  • 70mm cavity depth: 70mm width provides additional void space for services and insulation compared to slimline studs.
  • 3600mm length: Long span covers higher partitions with fewer joints.

Applications

  • Standard domestic partitions: Provides a stable framework for room divisions in houses and apartments.
  • Service walls: Allows integration of small pipework or electrical conduits within the cavity.
  • General office partitions: Suitable for forming standard dividing walls in commercial interiors.
  • Insulated walls: Cavity depth enables the use of mineral wool for improved acoustic and thermal performance.

Installation Guidance

  • Stud positioning: Fix vertically within floor and ceiling tracks at specified centres, ensuring stable alignment for taller partitions.
  • Board fixing: Secure plasterboard with drywall screws, in single or multiple layers as required.
  • Cutting: Trim studs cleanly to length using aviation snips or tin snips.
  • Service installation: Install electrical or plumbing services within the cavity before boarding.

Compliance & Performance

  • Material standard: Manufactured from cold-rolled galvanised steel to EN 14195.
  • Fire and acoustic potential: Performance is determined by partition design and boarding specification.
  • Dimensional reliability: Roll-formed process ensures consistent width and straightness.
  • Corrosion resistance: Zinc coating tested for use in dry internal environments.
  • Important note: Wear gloves and eye protection when cutting to avoid injury from sharp edges.
