Product Overview
A standard-leg timber-to-timber Jiffy joist hanger designed for secure face fixing between structural timber members.
Manufactured from corrosion-protected steel for dependable strength and clean bearing at the seat. The rigid side flanges and optimised nail pattern allow even load distribution into the supporting beam without risk of timber splitting.
Its compact form makes it suitable for flush, accurate installation where service runs or finishes need a neat line. Supplied for joists up to 47mm wide, with a 272mm leg length providing the standard nailing reach used in typical timber-to-timber applications.
Features & Benefits
- Face-fix configuration: Allows direct fixing to the supporting timber member for a precise set-out and fast installation.
- Defined seat support: Rigid seat gives positive bearing to the supported joist for predictable load transfer and reduced creep.
- Standard leg format: Leg length suited to typical timber-to-timber drops without requiring extended nailing lines or additional trimming.
- Optimised fastener layout: Staggered holes help distribute load and reduce the risk of timber splitting when correctly nailed or screwed.
- Material and finish: Supplied in corrosion-protected steel suitable for internal structural timber use; select finish to suit the service class.
- Application suitability: 47mm width suits standard 44-47mm joists; 272mm leg length provides conventional nailing reach for timber-to-timber work.
Applications
- Floor joists to beams: Supporting 44-47mm softwood joists from timber beams in internal floors.
- Ceiling joists to binders: Hanging 47mm ceiling members from timber binders where a standard leg is adequate.
- Trimmers and headers: Forming trimmer/header connections around openings with 47mm joists.
- Studwork and noggins: Creating 47mm secondary members where face-fix hangers give a cleaner junction.
Installation Guidance
- Set out and mark: Offer the hanger to the line, mark top and sides, and ensure the seat is level to the design datum.
- Fix supporting member first: Install all specified fasteners in the supporting member leg before seating the joist.
- Seat and secure joist: Fully bear the joist on the seat and fix through the side flanges per the specified nailing/screwing schedule.
- Maintain edge distances: Keep fasteners within the hole pattern and observe minimum end and edge distances for timber.
- Final checks: Confirm full bearing, no gaps at the seat, and that all holes required by the schedule are filled.
Compliance & Performance
- Intended use: Structural timber-to-timber connections in dry, internal environments unless otherwise specified.
- Corrosion protection: Select coating or material grade appropriate to the service class and environment as defined by the designer.
- Design responsibility: Designer to verify loads, timber grade, and fixings to suit the project’s requirements.
- Important note: Do not modify the hanger; use only specified fasteners.

How delivery works
We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery areas
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
What to expect on delivery day
- Deliveries are typically kerbside.
- Please ensure someone is on-site to accept delivery. For heavier items, help with offloading may be required.
- Many building materials arrive on large vehicles. If access is restricted, a specialist vehicle such as a HIAB may be required and could incur an additional charge.
Why delivery can cost more than typical parcel delivery
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.

Questions and Answers
i am using 47 x 100 (4 x 2) joist is this hanger the correct one, if not which one do i need
Can this be used with the 6x2 timber
Yes, this product is the correct one to use with 6x2 timber provided that the connection detail is timber to timber as shown in the product image. If you are connecting joists to a masonry wall a different joist hanger is required - URN: 7002021.
Can this be used with the 6x4 timber
No, this joist hanger is suitable only for 47mm (equivalent to 2 inches) wide joists. The correct product to use for a 6x4 timber joist is as follows: - 100mm x 245mm Standard Leg Timber to Timber Jiffy Joist Hanger URN: 7002015 - if the connection detail is timber to timber - 100mm x 150mm Standard Masonry Joist Hanger URN: 7002032 - if the connection details is timber to masonry Our product images are very helpful in making the correct selection.
Is 272mm the maximum length? I'll be using them on 200mm joists to hang 150mm joists.
No, there is a longer 47mm x 479mm Long Leg Timber to Timber Jiffy Joist Hanger available. However, as the joist that you are using the hanger for is 150mm, then the 272mm size should be more than adequate, and could be used for 200mm joists as well.
