120mm Xtratherm Thin-R PIR Insulation is a high-performance foil faced Polyisocyanurate (PIR) insulation board highly regarded for its thermal performance and versatile nature.
Clad on either side by a gas-tight low emissivity aluminium layer, the board comprises an environment friendly, CFC-free polyisocyanurate (PIR) core.
120mm Xtratherm Insulation boards have a certified thermal conductivity value of just 0.022 W/mK, knocking other insulations (such as EPS, XPS and mineral wool) out of the park in terms of thermal performance. T
These 120mm boards can be cut to fit in between stud work, laid under a screed floor, or installed between rafters in a pitched roof, making them among the most commonly used insulation products on the market.
Xtratherm Thin R XT boards are popular among contractors and installers, as they feature similar performance capabilities to the likes of Kingspan, at a fraction of the cost.
Xtratherm Thin-R Rigid Insulation Board is a multi-application product designed for roofs, walls, floors, timber and steel framed systems. These 120mm boards can be cut to fit in between stud work, laid under a screed floor, or installed between rafters in a pitched roof.
For cavity wall applications, we recommend CavityTherm from the Xtratherm range: an innovative built-in insulation solution for traditional walls that achieves passive level U-Values as low as 0.12 W/m2K with excellent protection against thermal bridging. In all builds, we advise that you ensure tight fitting of the insulation boards to achieve continuity of insulation.
The polythene wrapping in which the boards are supplied is not considered adequate protection for outside exposure.
Care should be taken to protect the insulation in storage and during the build process. To keep them in the best nick, we advise that you store the boards indoors on a level surface and under a protective cover.
The insulation boards can be readily cut using a sharp knife or fine-toothed saw.
Xtratherm is one of the largest Irish manufacturers and suppliers of insulation. Xtratherm owns and operates two state-of-art production facilities in the UK and Ireland providing security of supply for a range of insulation products.

We work with a nationwide network of trusted suppliers. Items in your basket may be supplied by different suppliers and delivered separately. Where this applies, you will see delivery charges shown at checkout for each part of your order. We always aim to group products from the same supplier to keep delivery costs as low as possible.
Delivery charges apply to mainland UK, excluding: AB, CA, CF, DD, DG, EH, EX, FK, KA, KW, KY, IV, LA, LD, LL, ML, NP, PA, PH, PL, SA, SY, TR, TQ and TD.
If your address is in one of these areas, we will contact you before processing your order to confirm any additional costs. We do not currently offer delivery outside the UK mainland.
Building materials often travel on larger vehicles and usually carry fewer drops per run than parcel networks. That is why delivery charges can be higher than standard e-commerce shipping.
Returns depend on what you have bought and whether there is anything wrong with it. For full details on eligibility, timeframes, and exclusions, please see our full policy.
